Question about Wacom Intuos3 Graphic Tablet

1 Answer

I have Wacom Intuos3 and I haven't been able to really use it because every time I put the pen tool on the pad, it draws a yellow post-it note sticky that grows as I move the pen around the pad and won't allow me to anything, but drawing on that temporary yellow sticky. Then after I pick the pen up, it disappears. How do I turn this function off? Sky skyline759@gmail.com

Thanks for your response. I'm using Photoshop CS version 8, but the tablet draws that "post-it note" whenever I put the stylist on the pad regardless of if there is a program running or not. I have to click the stylist button a few times in combination with tapping the pen on the pad. Then I MIGHT be able to grab a window or select something.

    Greetings Lee,

I apologize for the delay to your response. I haven't had my pad with me this weekend. I tried what you suggested to no avail. I've attached a link to a photo of the problem. Hopefully, this will better explain things.

Ok, so just so I understand the post it note opens up no matter what. Even when photoshop isn't running? Have you downloaded the latest drivers from the website?
    Here is the link:

It looks like you are working with a Mac system. This is actually a component of your Mac's Operating System. To disable the handwriting recognition window, just open your System Preferences and click on 'Ink'. Then, uncheck the box next to 'Allow me to Ink in any application'.

Why is there wobble on my wacom intuos pen?

Is it an Intuos3? I had the same issue (only the spot varied). The weird part was that it was caused by the scroll bars on the side being active, even though I wasn't using them. Disable them and see if it helps.

Why won't my wacom grip pen click when it touches the tablet instead of hovering and selecting text?

Have you tried pulling the nib out (the end bit you draw with)? It could be that something is sticking the nib further inside the pen than it should, which is telling the pen you are applying pressure. As far as I know there is a little spring inside the pen that the nib pushes on when you touch the pen to the tablet. Perhaps the spring is permanently squished in.

Illustrator CS5 does not recognize my graphic pen, wether with the Wacom tablet or my new Monoprice tablet. It draws a yellow sticky note kind of thing, it is annoying and I can't find a solution,

I too have a tablet not made by Wacom. For some reason, Illustrator only opens the tablet-sensitive definitions for Wacom. The solution I found: Go to the Wacom site, install the latest intuos driver. You won't be using it, but it will trick Illustrator into thinking there's a Wacom installed, the definitions will be active for your pen. Mine seems to work fine now.

Pen will only draw in photoshop

I am giving you a link below that will tell you all you need to know about Wacom and Linux (gimp). There you can download the driver you need in order for your Intuos3 to work with GIMP. Let me know if this helps.

Help! Yellow note pad everywhre.

There is a program called Ink - you'll find it in your system preferences under the apple menu. You need to turn it off. This will allow you to use your wacom without that annoying yellow notepad everywhere!!

My Wacom Intuos3 tablet won't switch into pen mode

I had the same problem with my Intuos3 on Vista. Tech support suggested the following.

Do this.....Go to Start--->control panel---->system(in classic view)---->device manager--->click on "human interface devices"--->then click on "Wacom virtual HID driver" and right click on that and disable it. Your computer will ask you to restart and you will want to do that.

Everything works fine now.

My cursor was smooth and easy to draw with, but now it's all shaky and won't draw well!

the latest drivers have 2 modes...

1 open the driver control panel
2 at the top of the window double click the intuos3 tablet that is giving you problems
3 choose standard mode instead of recognition data

... this is at least what worked for me. I hope it helps.
