Motherboard don't use any types of memories from any manufacture. Check the documentation of your system and verify that the memory that you installed is compatible with your system. When you start up you system you probable get a loog beep from your computer speaker.

Hello Folks, I'm in dire need of help. Nowadays

Hi Joseph.

The Asrock motherboard has 2 memory banks each supporting 1GB PC2100 (DDR266) / PC2700 (DDR333) memory modules (2GB) in total.

I would recommend that you purchase the PC2700 (DDR333) memory because its a little faster than PC2100

The HP memory that you posted a link to will not work as it runs at 400MHz (PC3200) which is too fast and the motherboard doesn't support memory that runs that fast and is the same with the other link too. In both cases you are paying through the nose as you can get DDR ram much cheaper than $118 dollars.

I would recommend to you Kingston Valueram. It is much cheaper and runs very well. You can also get this RAM at Walmart!! It cost around 45 dollars which is a saving of over 80 dollars.

Right click on the link I have provided for you below and open it in a new tab or window, you will nicely surprised at what you see

Good luck and if there is anything else please post back.

I have 512mb memory and it doesent work but two 128 mb memories work properly

Either your 512 MB RAM is not compatible with your motherboard or it is damaged in some way. RAM is very susceptible to static electricity. Check that your 512 MB is compatible first (ie: DDRx and the MHZ). If it is then the stick is bad it sounds like.

RAM compatibility HELP

Yes this pc3200 is hardly compatible, because your motherboard is supportable of DDR 1 type RAM, Hence th PC3200 = 400 MHz, so you can add this ram to your PC, such that the ram which is between 266mhz to 400 MHz is absolutely a DDR1 type . please dont forget to vote for me.

Several long beeps means there is a problem with the memory. First of all make sure the memory is seated in the slot perfectly. There should be no movement whatsoever when you gently try to rock it side to side. If it still persists the bad news is the memory is most likely shorted out or defective. They are VERY sensitive to static electricity. I would go ahead and put the old memory back in for now and send the new defective memory back. Most vendors will issue you a replacement free of charge if you let them know it's not working.

Hope this helps!

I want to get a new mother board for my toshiba satellite A105-2001

for you laptop motherboard all you need is to give you supplier the model number of you laptop and they should be able to supply you with the exact, right motherboard because laptop of the same series will carry the same motherboard, the only difference might be the chipsets, but all your other hardware will be compatible to that motherboard. This is your model number you need: Toshiba Satellite A105-S2001

RAM upgrate

you can upgrade to a max of 2gb on that board. These are your 1gb options: 1GB PC2700 333MHz DDR Memory, 1GB PC2100 266MHz DDR Memory, and 1GB PC3200 400MHz Non-ECC Unbuffered 184-pin DDR DIMM Memory. Install a set of any of these and your off and running.
