My Necvox RE8269D will start to load a disk, then after about 20 seconds says "No Disk". It does work on some disks

Dust is a killer to anything that uses a laser to read information, eg... CD's DVD's etc etc. we get at least 3-4 people coming in to the shop a week that have problems with units failing to read CD's. The only thing that you can do with out pulling apart the unit (which can get very complicated) is to use a lens cleaner CD/DVD. you can buy on specificlly made for units that "****" CD's in, or for lid types. i would suggest getting the appropriate one for your needs and running that through a couple of times. afterwards, remove any dust off where the DVD/CD inserts, to stop it carrying it in to the lens. If that doesnt work then you may have to take it to a specialist where they will check for loose connections etc.etc...

I hope this has helped you and please dont forget to rate my solution.
cheers

ERROR CODE 6

I have the same problem with my 925, and when I shipped it to clarion for repair, they told me that the dvd drive is shot... They quoted me a price of $700 to repair. I've been trying to find a dvd drive that I can put in myself, but haven't had much luck as of yet. Sorry to say that it sounds like you've got bad news there.

AVIC-N1 "disc read error"

The laser eye need to be re-align or clean up. If you are technical incline, then open it up and clean the laser eye and turn the mounting allen wrench nuts up a bit. If not have someone who knows do it. 'Cause there are alot of things can pop out of place when you opened it. Goodluck.
