SOURCE: Hp Color LaserJet 3500 Paper Jam

The only way to find paper remnants is to unplug the printer and inspect the paper path. It also helps to have a good focusing flashlight, skinny needle nose pliers, a can of compressed air (used sparingly) and a long thin probe. Your specific printer should be giving you jam messages with a location code as well. I?ve attached a link to an HP page containing a diagram of the 3500 paper path and the error code jam locations: http://h41206.www4.hp.com/webapps/IV3/node.iv?locale=en_us&prodSeriesId=315862&node=prodITRC%2FNL_HW_IPG_plakCLJ3500_EN_01_E%2FN1%7C6%7C9&prodTypeId=18972&serverId=1#src I solved this problem in my shops years ago by not letting anyone else clear jams OR insisting that any paper removed as a result of a jam is given to me. If any corners or pieces are missing I know what to look for and approximately where. Good hunting and please don?t forget to rate this post.

You may have a small piece of paper stuck in the wheel area that you may not see. Dust can cause this too, like ink.

there could be a small piece of paper stuck wehre the vertical path sensor is. it is showing a stationary jam at the vertical path 3 paper sensor. there is more than likely a sensor that has become wedged or has a piece of paper holding the sensor closed instead of open in or around drawer #3

I have a problem with an error of "Jammed paper" and I cant see any paper jammed, What should I do?

Sometimes a "jammed paper" error message is caused by a very small piece of paper lodged inside around a roller, and can't be seen with removing a cover or something, It isn't always a full sheet of paper in an obvious place that causes the problem. poke around inside and look for a tiny culprit, goodluck!

Paper jam

You need to take out your paper tray and ink cartridges and make sure the power is off. You should also be able to remove the lid so that you can clearly see the paper path. Do not **** on the paper with a great deal of force because you may dislodge something more than just the paper. You may have to remove any covers that obstruct your view of the paper path. Just be careful and take your time and remove it a little at a time if necessary. With the power off the rollers that it goes over should move freely and you can turn it by hand to feed the pieces of paper manually through.
