SOURCE: jumper pin settings
Hold the samsung SP1203N hard drive in your left hand with the lable facing upwards (then power cable connectors will be on your right hand side and the IDE cable connector will be on your left ahnd side). There are two raws of jumper pins in between the above two connectors
Master - join the first two column of pins on the left with a vertical jumper
Slave - leave all pins free (without jumpers)
Cable Select - join the third column of pins from the left with a vertical jumper
job done !!

SOURCE: jumper setting for slave drive
there is no such master or slave setting when SATA is used.
it is mainly used to tell the motherboard which one is master or slave when connected with IDE cable (PATA).
you don't need to worry about it as you are using a SATA HD.
the boot disk priority can be set in the BIOS
press del or F2 after you press the power button on CPU. you will be put with the BIOS/CMOS setup. go to boot priority and set accordingly, there is also an option to set the default hard disk in case you have more than one HD.

The SATA hard drive did not have master/slave setting at the hard drive
if you want to make the hard drive as master just connect your hard drive to SATA 1 slot at Motherboard
and id you want to make the hard drive as slave just connect your hard drive to SATA 2 slot at *********** board
i hope this helpful
thank you for using fixya

Testimonial: "I thought of that the second day but was not sure if that was all as there are 4 sets of pins on the drive. I get to test it tonight."
