Question about Zonet ZSR4154WE Router

2 Answers

We have been using this router for a while with no problem. Recently, we began having connection problems. The router is used for 2 computers and both will be intermittently unconnected to the internet. This happens several times a day. We are able to reconnect, we've found, by restarting our computers. We appreciate any assistance you might offer.

I would first check with your Internet Service Provider, just to make sure your Internet connection is fine.
Then, I would check the power outlet, and if necessary install a power surge protector.(Could be dirty power line)
My next step would be checking the WiFi channel: You might have a new neighbor who is using the same WiFi channel: For the best result it should be at least two channel separation. For example if you have WiFi access points close to each other, then you would like to set one of them to channel 6 and the other to channel 9.
If everything fails, try a new router.

I hope this would give you some ideas

Try to reboot your modem. You will probley have to leave it unplugged. Do the same for the router. It should fix your problem.

I have recently purchased the wire/wireless

What is the Operating system on the laptop ?
If it is XP then in the bottom right hand corner you will find Wireless network connection ( looks like 1 computer monitor). Use that icon to connect to the wireless network.
If it is windows Vista, then in the bottom right hand corner you will find 2 computer monitor icon. Use that icon to connect to the wireless network.
If it is Windows 98/ME/2000 then use the adapter utility to connect to the wireless network.
For MAC you will see the AIRPORT icon at the top.

Check the wireless settings of the router first . Make sure that yopu have all the wireless settings of the router. If you are not sure about the settings, then open the router set up and check the settings.

My wifi says limited or no connectivity. How can i fix it?

Straighten-out a paper-clip.
Push one end inside the pin-hole in the back of the router,
and hold for 2 seconds.
This will "reset" the router to "factory" settings.

Then, follow the instructions that came with the router
to do the "first-time" setup of the router.

NETGEAR Wireless G USB Adaptor Problems

I contacted Bigpond after my whole internet collapsed due to my amature abilities in fixing the internet. >_<" yet they fixed my internet connection by disconnecting my current (DLINK DIR-300) router from the network. hmmmm... the technician also confirmed that my current broadband modem (2WIRE 2071-A) isnt capable of supplying a shared connection to more than one computer!! she also directed me towards a modem with an inbuilt wifi router that "supposedly" is the best option right now. (2701HGV-W) I'm a bit shaky and the stupid NETGEAR adaptor problem still exists - im willing to buy the new modem if its guaranteed to abolish this problem and give me a better internet wise outlook - please any suggestions will be appreiciated =)

Router connections

Is your speedstream router also your high speed modem? If so, you will have to go into the settings on the Linksys and change its IP Address subnet from 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.2.1 (or you can use a different number than 2) You will then need to reboot both routers (and possibly the computers) and try again. The easiest way to get into the Linksys settings is to connect it directly to the laptop via network cable, then type in 192.168.1.1 in the web browser. No user name and admin is default password. (Make sure you change that, and the name of the wireless, and the security settings)
Good Luck!

I don't see why not..
are you trying to hook up both computers to your linksys router?

MTNL INTERNET PROBLEM

Hello.

Since your ISP provided you a username and password when connecting to a broadband connection, you have to setup the router's "Internet Connection Type" to PPPoE then you need to enter the username and password that you are using to connect to your broadband.

Once you do that, the router will obtain an IP address from your ISP(MTNL) then it will give connections to your computers
