Hi and welcome to FixYa. I am Kelly. The majority of the time when you have a working control panel and no heat there are 2 - 3 items that fail.

Service manual for this microwave is actually posted on the sears website:

Cost will depend on what part has failed.

The connection on the rear of the hub should go to a USB connection on the laptop, not a PS/2 connection. A PS/2 to USB adapter is used to connect a PS/2 keyboard or mouse to a USB connection.

Scrolling function does not work at all on my new lattitude e5500. driver is current from dell website

1 Check that the touchpad driver is actually installed and it's not using the Microsoft PS/2 driver
2 You may need to re-install the driver
3 If the above is correct check the Comtrol Panel>Mice and PPointing devices. On one of the tabs there will be Use Scroll Function (on the Inspiron it's in "gestures")

Is this a multi region dvd player disc?

not sure about multi regional player disc - if this is a standalone player then there are remote control hacks you can use as per website and if that does not help and this is another type of dvd player ie PS 2 or otherwise then it depends

Broken cardholder on IBM Selectric II

Actually it depends on when it was made, IBM used 2 Different versions of card holders on the Selectric II model, On early models the plastic piece is attached to a metal bracket that is screwed on to the print assembly, later models the plastic piece just snaps on, It is easier to get either style in and out if you remove the Platen first. The styles are not interchangeable, So you need to know which on it takes before getting a replacement.

Install a new keybord

Unplug your current old keyboard, plug in your new keyboard. Two types of connectors: PS/2 or USB. Depending on your keyboard brand, go to that vendor website and download that keyboards software (optional).
