SOURCE: Omega Seamaster gaining about 10 minutes per hour

Hi, If under warrantee certainly return it for service. I can categorically tell you it's not a broken mainspring. If it were it would not run period. It's probably not rated correctly however if purchased new this is not likely. If you have had similar problems with other mechanical watches you may be better off with a quartz watch. Problem may have occurred if the watch has been subjected to a strong magnetic field.

SOURCE: Why do the Omega Seamaster watches have a second

This is a helium release valve.
The purpose and function of the helium relief valve is a common point of confusion. It has nothing to do with normal underwater diving. Neither does it have anything to do with the depth rating for a diving watch. Helium does NOT seep into the watch while the watch is in water at any depth!

To put it simply, you can completely ignore a helium relief valve. This feature is not used in any way with any form of normal SCUBA diving or anything else that involves less than a multi-million dollar deep sea exploration project.

SCUBA diving activities normally occur at depths of no more than 120 feet. At 250 feet, air becomes toxic due to changes caused by the high pressures at such depths. For those who do very deep sea research, they often use diving bells, dry dive suits, and other types of very deep ocean exploration vessels. In some of these, a highly helium-saturated atmosphere is used to avoid the air toxicity effect.

The purpose of a helium release valve is for people who wear their watch inside the helium-saturated environment for an extended period. Because helium is the smallest atom, it will seep through the watch's seals under the high air (not water) pressures in this environment. If the watch stays in this environment for an extended time, helium will continue to seep in to the watch until the air pressure inside the watch (initially surface air pressure) equalizes to the air pressure in the environment.

This becomes a problem when the vessel is brought back up and depressurized. The helium which seeped into the watch over a couple of days, cannot seep out any faster. The excess pressure inside the watch needs a way to release faster than it seeped in. It is only in this situation that a watch needs a helium relief valve at all. If a relief valve was not on the watch, the excess pressure would likely escape by pushing the crystal out.

But, unless you are in this exact situation, you should never keep this valve open. While the watch is designed to maintain most of its waterproof abilities even when the valve open, it still serves no purpose and increases risk of damage to the watch to do so.

How to reset the watch

Depends on the watch. A perpetual calendar needs some one who knows how as it is a set combination of buttons to push on the movement. A Omega seamaster there is a button on the crown you need to push in for a few second and the second hand will stop, this is complicated to explain. O normal watch just pull the crown out on stop to change the date/day 2 stops to change the time.

Set date on omega seamaster quartz 1425

When you pull the crown (winder) , you will notice it has two positions (two clicks). The first click is for quick date setting, the second click is for time setting (moving hands). Second click can be use for date setting as well, but for this you need to move watch hands forward for 24 hours to pass 12 o'clock.

I have purchased a seamaster model 2561.80 and I cannot pull out the crown to position 2 or 3 in order to set the time or change the date.

Try turning the crown to unlock it before you pull it. Some higher end watches have screwed down crowns for keeping out water and dust.DB
Hope this helps. If not I'll but it for a buck ... Really it should solve your problem

What time of the morning does the date flip over on a Omega Seamaster Professional Chronograph?

The date change is a mechanical operation.A gear train turns and rotates a date ring. This turn over is designed to take place at 12 but the wheels can take some time to flip the date over so by 12.30.If its say 3am then the date ring can be re set to make it closer to 12.
For this you will need a good watchmaker look at www.rolexrepairs.co.uk there is a postal repair service with a free estimate.

Second hand does not return to zero caliber 3606

Yes, this can be recalibrated from the outside. To get your chrono hands pointing in the right direction pull the crown out to the first position then click the plunger/ chrono button. This should move your chrono hand one click at a time to get it to the right place. If this does not work try pulling the crown out to 2nd position (all the way out) and try clicking the plunger as described above.
If this STILL does not work, which it should, then you'll need to go to an Omega dealer and have them take a look at it.

Yes that is ok its right by pulling the crown winder in the mid level or half level, that is for calendar date.To check if function is ok or broken, just pull full the crown and set the time, see if the calendar date is changing or moving. Then if moving then its ok,the next step you do set is the calendar date,by pulling the crown half pull, then turn the crown counterclockwise for date and for the day turn clockwise.Feel free to post whatever the result of the setting...

Hope it may helps you;

what you have to do is that pull the crown to halfway do not pull completely out, if you pull halfway out and then move the crown to clockwise or anti clockwise it will change the date. if you pull completely out then it will change the time.
