Question about Dishwashers
RE: unit will not start Washing light stuck on or flashing
-Hi all - Before u fork out for 150.00 for an new control board try this.
Shut the power off to the unit. Remove the screws 6 screws and remove the black user panel. Remove the 4 connectors connecting to the handle switch, making note which ones are connected to the respective connection. With the door open verify that all contact points are open by using a mulitimer/continuity test. Close the door and retest. If the contacts are still open then most likley the problem is with the swictch inside the handle. This part is about $ 35.00.. .if it registers closed/shorted then problem is most likely with the Control board. If you still get open you might as well remove it. Now what I did was played with the latching mechanism, the mechanism at first felt soft meanin it did not take much to push down to full position. After mucking around I heard snap and all of sudden the switch felt much firmer to open and close. Redo the continutity test if it is shorting now great. reopen and confirm it's open,, and voila.. put the swicth/handle back on, reconnect put all togther apply power. three lights will blink and press power and u should be good to go. If the switch is wide open, then try to get a new switch/handle before commiting to the cost of the control board..

Tips for a great answer:
Good Morning friend, thanks for your post!
Based off the information you have provided your Frigidaire dishwasher is not starting properly. I would recommend performing a reset on your dishwasher and you can do that by flipping the household circuit breaker off for ten minutes. If you continue to experience this issue it could mean that your control panel or keypad need to be replaced and I would recommend reaching out to a professional technician for proper diagnosis. Hope this helps. -Matt

Hello - Try resetting the dishwasher by disconnecting the power to the unit. This will clear most flashing lights. You can disconnect power by flipping the circuit house breaker off and back on for approximately two minutes. If this does not prove to be successful, contact a professional to move forward accurately. Dishwasher could possibly have a faulty control board or wiring failure.
