SOURCE: removed splatter shield

If you can supply the brand and model, we can probably point you to the supplier for the splatter shield (waveguide cover).

The door shouldn't really fog up too much (not permanently anyway) as long as the internal cooling fan and seals are okay.

The door panels can usually be separate for cleaning if it's absolutely necessary, but it's a pain of a job.

Again, brand and model mean everything, so if you can give us those we can probably get more specific. Happy to help.

SOURCE: Microwave door has burn spots on the glass of the door...

The brown spots are usually grease / smoke deposits. Usually there are indeed two sheets of glass in the door. If the grease is not arcing or smoking, and the metal screen / mesh (that blocks microwave leakage) is not damaged, then it's likely better left alone. It might be useful to boil a few cups of water with a little vinegar inside the microwave to help dissolve the deposits. In case you want to take it apart, I have attached a photo from a similar model that illustrates disassembly of the door. It is not necessary or advisable to remove the door or hinges when disassembling the door.

SOURCE: Gold Star Microwave- model MV 1500MG

Normallyyou have to separate the door panels (as shown in the attached photo)and then you'll see the previously hidden screws you need to remove.

Or you can watch a YouTube video (not a video I made) that demonstrates how it's done.

There are many good suggestions for cleaning and deodorizing microwaves here.

How can I remove the vapor barrier on my Panasonic Inverter Microwave to clean the glass!

Inner layer of a microwave door is part of the metal cage that keeps the microwave energy inside and prevents potentially dangerous energy leaks.

To clean the inside of the glass the door will need to be dismantled - some doors dismantle easily and some don't and sometimes the door must be removed in order to dismantle...
Some doors remove easily and some don't...

It is very important the door is reassembled correctly and then tested for energy leakage.

Door glass is lose and seal is leaking..moisture is forming on inside of glass

That is normally caused by the clear plastic adhesive cover either having been removed or missing. It covers the perforated door inner and stops condensation and food particles from getting inside the door cavity where is cannot be cleaned.

How do you clean moisture stains from between the door glass?

If they are stains, not too much can be done except for taking apart the glass and cleaning. If it's just moisture, you can shine an auto/shop trouble light (the old kind that get warm, not the new flourescent ones) on it to slowly heat it up and dry it out. Be careful not to get the door glass to warm or it may warp. Best is to just get it a bit warm and keep the light on it for several hours.

There are stains in between the glass on the door. How can I remove and clean this?

Hello :

Disassembling the door yourself will void the warranty and may require a service technician to repair any damage or put the door back together. It is recommended that a service technician complete this for you. It is not recommended that you disassemble the door yourself.

Things You Will Need:
Glass cleaner
Soft cloths
Glass stovetop cleaner
Steps to Remove the Glass:
Make an appointment with a service technician to remove the glass from the door.
Use glass cleaner to remove as much of the debris as possible.
For tougher stains and food debris, use a glass stovetop cleaner to aid with removal.
Once the stains and debris are removed, allow the service technician to reassemble the door.

Cleaning Through the Door Vents:

When the glass cannot be removed or is no longer covered by the warranty, there are other, more creative, ways that can be used to clean it.

Things You Will Need:
Long handled cleaner
Bottle brush
Yardstick/ruler wrapped in cloth
Bent hanger wrapped in cloth
Dryer vent brush
Glass cleaner
Soft cloths/towels/long socks
Duct tape (optional)
Steps to Clean Between the Glass:
Some Microwave ovens have small vents along the bottom or top of the door. These vents go in between the glass (and are likely part of the problem with other materials getting in there as well). By inserting a towel on a long-handled stick, you can gently clean between the glass without disassembling the door.First, find the vents on the door if you have them.
It may be easier to remove the door from the hinges and lay it flat on the floor. Many microwave oven doors simply lift right off of the hinges, others will require loosening a few screws first. Replacing the door should be easy to do at the end of the cleaning and will not void the warranty.
Start by choosing a long-handled cleaning tool. There are a variety of options available, so be creative.
Secure a towel or soft cloth (long socks work well) to the handle with duct tape or other strong tape. Make sure it’s well fastened so it doesn’t come off and become stuck in the door.
Moisten the towel or soft cloth with the window cleaner or other cleaning product.
Insert the cleaning tool through the vents.
Move the cloth back and forth to remove the debris from between the glass.
Remove the cloth.
Repeat with a clean cloth until all of the debris is gone.
Replace the door on the oven and enjoy the clear, clean view.

WARNING : A microwave oven is capable of giving you a serious electrical shock, even when it is unplugged. I strongly recommend you seek the assistance of an appliance repair technician when conducting any microwave oven repair .

good luck .

Condesation stains inside door

The door is not an airtight unit. Moisture can and does get between the panels. Nothing to do outside of disassembling the door and cleaning. Not so easy to do.

Kenmore Over the Range Microwave

If you think the window is stained, you ought to see the rest of the inside! Wife is probably right. (wink, wink, nod, nod)
Actually, you can take the cover off, remove the front panel without much effort and clean everything and get a lot more life out of it. Microwaves usually die because of heat related problems caused by buildup of yuck on the guts.

Modelnn-h264/s254 1100 watts

This door screen as it's called protects the metal mesh screen from moisture and food debris. The door screen must be replaced or the mesh screen can arc and be damaged, which can lead to microwave leakage. You can order a new screen from Panasonic at: http://www.pasc.panasonic.com/Epartr/PartsListChoice.asp It may be this part: F31455H00AP DOOR SCREEN A 5.75 But it might be better to call Panasonic at 800-833-9626 and be sure this is the right part. Be sure to have your FULL model nuber (with suffix) when you call. Be sure to use a cleaner like acetone, etc. to remove all the old adhesive before applying the ne wone, or it will not stick. The door must be squeaky clean and dry.
