Are you referring to an MP3 player? What model? For most computers to detect an MP3 player, you need to have some kind of proprietary software installed on your computer. If you post back with the make and model, I can help you more specifically.

Can't turn on my mp3 player. I have tried to hold the volume buttom but it does not turn on at all.

what type of mp3 player ?

Charge your MP3 player.

The battery might just be dead, in which case letting it charge for a few hours corrects the problem.

Plug the USB data cable into the USB port on the MP3 player and insert the other end into one of the USB ports on your computer.

In a moment, the computer states that it has detected the removable device.

Sometimes the MP3 player needs to update itself, and it can only do so while connected to a computer.

When the MP3 player detects the computer, it attempts to connect to the Internet and retrieve any system updates available for the device.

Replace the battery.

The battery is usually the first part of the MP3 player to go (especially after excessive use). Although you can manually change the battery on most MP3 players, you need to send your

Apple products (iPod, iPod Nano, iPod Touch, iPhone) into the company so they can change the battery for you.

Purchase a new MP3 player.

If your MP3 player has received any sort ofwater damage, it is not going to turn on at all and there is nothing you can do to fix the issue.

hope this helps

My mix max doesnt turn on. it was working and all of a sudden it said "connect to usb". i did then it turned off and it doesnt turn on anymore i tried to charge it but it still doesnt work. HELP!!! please.

If this doesn't help, the MixMax must be opened up. By CAREFULLY prying the corners loose, you can remove the back. You will break several of the smaller retainer clips during this, but it's OK. The main retainers will hold the unit together just fine once completed. Once opened, unplug the battery. NOTE THE ORIENTATION of the red and black wires. Use any 5V 500ma or less power supply and connect to the battery. Charge it for at least 30 seconds. return the battery to the unit, and reassemble. DO NOT TURN IT ON. Plug the USB cord in and let it charge completely.
The MixMax will disable the power if there is an unexpected power interruption, then the battery will run completely dead. Once dead, it cannot detect the USB when connected.

Not detected by computer - cannot recharge battery

yay I found a solution! so I kept getting the error about an MTP device, so I did a big search. I am running vista on a 32 bit processor. what you need to download is the MTP installation programme from windows. so click on http://support.microsoft.com/kb/939211
and then just select what processor speed you need. should do the trick! I also downloaded http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=A2E73160-E862-4F19-BB26-C0CAFE798955&displaylang=en initially, but it didn't appear to work. hope that you all get to the bottom of this frustrating problem :)

No power no nothing

When the e200 is taken out of the package ensure the "Hold" switch is not in the lock position.

When looking at the front of the player, the "Hold" button on the top should be pushed all the way to the left.

After pushing the "Hold" button to the left, then press the "menu" button to power on the device.

Also, plug it in for a few hours to charge the battery.
