How to change harddrive in ibm 2647 notebook

Any help would be appreciated. know nothing about them

I can look for a service manual for you on the ibm/lenovo website. I need more information from you though?
there's like three different numbers sets on the bottom of it. I will need to know what they are.

How old is your computer??? is it getting overheated?..what operating system did it have before xp? does it give you any messages before shutting down?

Type 2647 turns on only when it wants to


I assume, you have loosen magnetics on mainboard, which need resoldering. Check this link for details:

You have to make sure the HD is properly formated and install the XP into it... you may want to read below link which i think might be helpful to solve you problem...
