The picture images are fat and squatty, particularly people! Can the picture be adjusted?

maybe its because of your pc monitor resolution, let me ask are all photos browse from your pc look that way?

You can use any other image viewing software such as Picasa. It will open images at 100% size but you can change the size of images

change your resolution. depending on whether its a widescreen or not, this can make pictures look squatty. if its widescreen, generally 1400x900 is a good resolution. on regular ones 1280x1024 is generally good. but that also depends on what size ur screen is also

Try ajusting the resoloution to a higher number. That should work.

if you have a menu button on tv shoul be able to do it there after you push the menu button then use the up or down button for selection then the volume up or down to ajust then menu to exit. Now if no menu button sometimes you can push the up down chanel button at the same time and get into the menu. Hope one of these works.

You may only need to change the format for the picture. Check your owners manual for how to change the picture format, or aspect ratio. The tv may be in the zoom mode the way you describe it. There is likely an option in the menu to allow the unit to automatically set the format based opon the signal being received. Only some of the programming you see is actually HD. The Super Bowl was broadcast in HD and has a 16:9 aspect ratio (width to height). When this set is adjusted for a correct HD display I'm confident you will be impressed. So I believe this is a matter of a customer setup with the remote. If I had the unit in front of me I could offer more detail. I hope my general opinion helps.

There is an aspect ratio setting in your menu options. You will have to change the aspect ratio so you get a normal screen.
This will most likely fix your problem.
If by slight chance it doesn't, you will have to remove the back of the tv and find the manuyal adjustments for it.
All newer Tv's have the aspect ratio/picture change setting.

You need a video card that will adjust the resolution to the proper proportion. The closest I can get to a good aspect ratio is 1152 x 864.

Check the B+ output voltage, if this is higher than rated, this problem could occur.
