I got you!!..... I got you!!....

Okay, Follow these steps and you should be print and scanning anything in just a few minutes....

First step - Go to http://www8.hp.com/us/en/support-drivers.html and choose and click "Driver and Software" then type in product name...(exactly what name it says on the printer... )

It will take you to another page with a white background ..

Now if you look carefully you will see that it says "Step one: select your operating system " ...

Now on that particular page you will need to choose what windows you have to download the driver, software, print and scan utilities for your printer... (The utilities help clear your print and scanning errors... Basically it tells you whats wrong with the printer!)

Go down to where it says:
" Select your operating system, then click 'Next': "......
Go down the list and choose the operating system you have and click next it will take
you to a another page.....

On the next page : You'll see the " Step two: Select your download "...
Chose the download you want now, which would be the driver, updates and your utilities for future problems...

If what you download don't work then you clicked on the wrong printer name or wrong windows operating system.....

Please leave a testimony and vote on solution...
Also feel free to ask more questions...

Thank you for that info. This printer is not hooked up to a computer as it belongs to a customer of mine who just dropped it off. . It does this right when I turn it on. It will fail the alignment.. or give the other error.. then allow me to still use the thing. But the customer wants me to stop this from happening every time.

The problem wound up being that the Color Ink was out. So the Alignment page was not printing the color part. When the scanner scanned it, it was looking for that and did these errors.
Such a simple solution.. I should have thought of that. My apologies.

    Thank you

Hi, Wonder can you help my printer keeps printing off test page everytime it is turned on. this is only happening since i changed the cartridge, never did this before. thanks

Hi,

Your printer is printing alignment pages, because the cartridge alignment was not completed since you replaced them. Follow the below steps to complete alignment.

  1. Turn the printer OFF and then turn back ON.
  2. Wait until the alignment sheet prints out fully.
  3. Place the alignment test page over the scanner glass.
  4. Press start color scan button.
  5. The printer "power" light will start flashing, indication the alignment process.
  6. After the printer stops flashing, turn off and then ON the printer. It will not print any test pages further.
We need to run alignment test every-time while we replace ink cartridges.

Why does my HP 1500 prints a test page every time I begin touse it???

HI
As soon as the printer prints the test page or alignment page place it on the scanner glass (Place the printed side down) before that Examine the scanner glass and white scan backing. Clean the scanner glass and scan backing if they are not clean. To clean the scanner glass and scan backing, use a soft cloth towel slightly dampened with clean water.
After That press scan on the printer button panel it will resolve your issue.
Try to double check it by turning it off and turning the printer back on after 2 minute's. If still the problem exists call HP Total Care 800 - 474 - 6836 if you are from US/Canada.
) Lift the lid of the product.
2) Place the top of alignment page face down in the right front corner of the glass.
3) Place the alignment page face down
4) Close the lid.
5) Press the Start Scan button.
6) The Power button light will blink during the alignment process.
7) After the Power button light stops blinking, alignment is complete.

It is not the test page it is alignment test page just put the printed alignment test page paper on scanner glass and press the scan button to complete the process. It is alignment process which is printer is doing for self testing after installing new cartridge. Just finish the process.
Hope this helps. Please rate my response.
Thanks.

HP PSC 1315 Prints test page every time printer is installed

Hi Jay,
This is mike, actually the problem is that that printer has not completed the aligning process, as a result the printer is printing the test page (Alignment page) every time when you turn it ON. So, I would suggest you to let the printer prints the alignment page and check whether the printer prints the page with all colors and it printed fine, once it is done, disconnect the USB cable behind the printer and then place the alignment page on the scanner glass by facing down the printed page downwards and press the scan button. This start the alignment process and the scanning process will be completed once the ON light is stop blinking. This will complete the alignment process.

Once done try to turn off and turn on the printer and check for the result. This should resolve the issue.

However, if the issue persist, then please revert back to me. Be sure that you use the HP genuine ink cartridges, not refilled nor re-manufacture.

PRINTS TEST PAGE WHEN TURNED ON

Actually its not my solution... see http://forums13.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/bizsupport/questionanswer.do?admit=109447627+1235819514435+28353475&threadId=932709

"Holly" posted something that worked for me:

Holly Jul 6, 2005 07:09:59 GMT Unassigned Hello!

This is something you can try. Sometimes the printer doesn't understand that the alignment page you are scanning is for it to read, therefore you have to do a 'standalone alignment' on the unit before it actually does understand. Here is how you do it:

1. Hold Cancel and On, then release.
2. In sequence, press Cancel, Resume, Paper Type, Color Start Copy.
3. Another alignment page will print out and this is the one that you should actually put faced down in the scanner glass and press Scan.
^Hopefully that will be the last and final time that the alignment page prints out!!

Printer prints a test page every time it is turned on.

Hi everyone

After replacing the print cartridges 2 steps need to be done:

1. Wait for the test page to be printed out and

2. Put a page over the scanner glass and press scan button on your

printer.

Turn off the printer and turn it on again to see if the problem was

solved.

Every time i turn the printer on it prints an alignment page

I think the alignment page is printing every time you turn on the all-in-one.

Remove the USB cable from the all-in-one and keep the alignment page face down on the scanner glass and press scan button.

Now turn off the printer and turn on and check whether it printed again or not.

Prints test page every time the printer is turned on

This might be an alignment page. To get it to stop, you will have to go through the alignment and new cartrige setup in the hp software. This should be located under Start/All Programs/HP folder. I'm not sure what the software would be called but it should be easy to do if you have the HP software installed. Hope this helps!
