Question about Samsung Gleam (SCH-u700) Cellular Phone

1 Answer

I dropped my phone in a bowl of water. I used a hair dryer to dry the phone out. It came back on and now says "Download & Upload mode.... Emergency" What can I do to get the phone back to the regular screen and working properly again because it is just staying on the "Download & Upload mode" screen?

I would take the phone's battery out, take the sim card out and let it sit for a couple of hours inside of a bowl of rice. This will make sure that ALL moisture has been extracted from the phone. In fact, if you can let it sit for a couple of days.. that would do the trick. Reinsert Sim Card, Battery and test.

Good luck to you!

What to do if your phone fall into water

first of all remove the phone from the water
then remove the battery but make sure not to switch it on to avoid short circuits inside the phone

then dry it with a towel
then dry it with a hair dryer for at least 15 minutes
then place the phone in a bowl of rice for at least 4 hours
then again dry it with a hair dryer for 10 minutes

and then your phone works as it used to

i tried it several times and it worked

I have one maxwest cellphone it's damaged by water, can it fix it?

Open the phone and remove the battery. Dab all internal surfaces with paper towel to remove as much moister as possible. Then use a hair dryer on medium heat to gently dry the phone completely. Make sure the battery is dry as well. Leave the phone open for a further half hour after drying and then put the battery back in and close the case. Switch on the phone, good luck.

Open up your phone and put a single layer of kitchen roll and wrap around phone, then place phone into a bowl of dry rice for 24 hours, and that will dry your phone out,or try a hair dryer.

Yesterday, I was texting my boyfriend... I was in the bath tub, but I was drying my hands off onto a towel... I didn't think much of it, because my phone has been dropped into the dogs water bowl by...

Try this :
Bring a hair dryer ,then remove your battery and sim card, then turn the hair dryer on (the hot air)
make the hair dryer focus on the phone from the battery side becuase there are some holes wich the
hot air can get inside the mobile and dry the mobile hard ware.
Make the hair dryer focus on the mobile for 5 minutes but be careful and make a distance between
the hair dryer and between the mobile to avoid damage the plastic mobile case becuase of hot air.

After five minutes turn the hair dryer off and wait until the mobile gets cold, then turn it on
This way is effective 50% to 90 %
If your mobile worked that means congratulations.
If it worked but not 100% that means there is improvement and keep drying it by the hair dryer as
i explained before,,,every dry for 5 minutes only.
But if it doesnt work at all ...that means your mobile needs a hardware repair and you have to send
it to a mobile repair store.

There may still be some traces of water inside. Blow it with a hair dryer for sometime without heat. Only when the phone is totally dry that you shud use it.

***First when your phone is dropped in any kind of liquid (water, coca cola, etc) you hae to remove the battery immediatly! DO NOT POWER THE PHONE ON! If you do so your chances of saving your phone will drop from 50% to a low 5%. If your phone is powered on when it still has water or humidity in it that can cause a major short circuit within the main board of the phone.***

Answer to your question:

Just take out the back panel of the phone then you should see some screws. From there it's up to you, have fun!

It's best to use an electric heat gun to dry the phone, but dont put it to close to the phone or it will melt it. I saved a lot of phones with this gun.
