Question about Panasonic Proline AG-DV2500

1 Answer

My DV2500 was repaired a couple of months ago (power switch) Before this repair it married up with my laptop with no problem. Since it came back from being repaired....it hesitates...the video breaks up on screen and often the video display will freeze with capturing. I have tried rebooting...capturing directly from the camera (works great) I could guess the settings might need to be checked, but I don't want to do that because I could make matters worse. Thank you !!! Larry

Hi Larry.

At a glance it does not sound like a setting problem. The unit may still be defective, and the repair hasn't fixed the whole set of problems. Here the manual showing how-to.

Try to preset the time code and do a CLEAR of time code values. Also set it to drop mode. If that does not help, install it and test it on a different computer. If you get the same problem, then the unit is defective.

Regards.

Ginko.

Then, it should be FULLY covered under WARRANTY, either from the store from where you bought it, or from ACER.

> new battery from COSTCO

It's probably 100% fine; it's your laptop that is the problem.

Exercise the WARRANTY to get the laptop repaired/replaced, at NO COST to you.

This sounds like the possibly infamous Nvidia GPU defect. It is caused by heat, over time the solder fractures and separates from the board. Typically the solution is either repair it (temporary fix) or get a new board and hope for the best.

The sounds like a systems control board problem, or the systems control has detected an issue with the camera. The only option is to return it to the place of purchase for repair or exchange.

Three blinks is a lamp cover error. Make sure the lamp cover is back on securely and try again, there is a switch that does not allow the TV to turn on unless the lamp cover is on correctly.

If this does not work, then it means the lamp cover switch was damaged when you were putting the new bulb in and you need to get the switch repaired or get a new switch. They are two of them and cost about $15 each.

Hp dv2500 wont turn on

does the laptop plug in tightly to the power socket

if not the pavilion part to get the system power needs replacement

contact a local technician and state the power adapter plug-in on the motherboard needs replaced

these commonly go bad on pavilions

it should cost you less than 100usd to repair

or rma the laptop if you have warranty coverage left on the hp dv2500

good luck

sounds like power pack. Look for your warranty papers. Or, call ACER in your country and arrange repair (might also be the laptop itself). They can arrange pick up and repair under warranty.

HP Pavilion dv2500 - FTB

The troubleshooting you have done seems to be fine. It does not seem to be a problem with the power supply, cord or battery.Did you try a hard reset. If there is a reset button on the bottom of your laptop, you might want to try pressing that with laptop plugged in, not plugged in, with battery, without battery and different combinations thereof.
If this does not work or you don't have a reset button read on.

Before assuming it's the motherboard, there is one other possibility. There is a part called a PCA switch. It is possible this switch has gone bad or a plug might have come loose.

If you are comfortable with doing your own work, you can obtain a repair manual for your laptop online. Within this manual, it should explain what is involved in replacing this part. It is really not too complicated.

It does not sound like a hard drive problem simply because it doesn't seem to be getting power to any other part of the laptop.

You can try these steps.

Repair Procedure for HP Pavillion Dv2500

U could be more specific, however you are covered up to 1 year from the day of purchase for any manufacturing error, not accidental. Depending on the country u r in call HP and let them noe of the problem. The'll help u out. If possible I recommend just restoring ur PC to factory setting if it is software related problem.
