Contact Golden Tech @ 800-624-6374 and ask for tech support Then explain your problem and ask if you can get just the brake assembly or have to replace both motor and brake. Cheaper for you if you can get just the brake Hope this helps you

Chair is slowing down. Batteries are fully charged.

How old are the batteries? Even fully charged older batteries can be weaker and not give you as much power to keep the speed at what you are used to. Now a dragging bake can cause you to go slower and also drag the batteries down quicker. Try driving the chair and after awhile check each motor to see if they feel overly warm or hot If one or both feel very warm or hot then I would have the brake or brakes checked If they seen ok I would get the batteries replaced

Brake seems to stick on causing battery to run down

Sounds like you have weak batteries or a bad brake. You can measure the brake resistance at the connector between the front and rear halves of the scooter. The brake is good if the resistance measures between 30 to 65 ohms.
You should load test the batteries to see if they are good. It takes battery power to run the motor and release the brakes. Weak batteries will cause the brakes to drag and the scooter to run slow.
A new brake costs about $70 and new batteries start at $40 each.
If you do not have a beep fault code, nothing has burnt out yet. I would have the scooter checked out soon by a qualified technician. Hope this helps.

Starter turns motor to slow to start, it has new battery, new starter, new silinoid.

There is a test you can run on the starter but you need special ewuiptment to perform this test. You probably can take the starter out and take it to a local shop and they can test it. It sounds like the starter is dragging and probably needs to be rebuilt.

I have just fitted new battery to my pride sonic but will only move very slowly even at maximum speed adjustment

Hi. Did you fit one battery or two new ones. It never pays to fit only one battery.
Have you checked for a high/low switch, sometimes called indoor/outdoor switch.
Check motor and battery connectors.
Check motor current ( amps ) with an amp meter to see if the motor is faulty.
Check brake unit is not causing drag on the machine.
Good luck. Neil.

The right front brake drags and gets hot

When it drags, loosen the bleeder, if it releases, the hose is bad, if it does not release, the caliper is bad.

Rear disc brakes drag after installing new pads

Just did my rear brakes this weekend, Monday had a very slight drag. Noted that when I installed new pads I had to tap them on. That shouldn't be. When brakes are released, there should be enough play to allow the pads to back off the disc. Tonight, I removed the pads and filed down the ends of the tips that go into the top and bottom channels until I could install and remove them with fingertips, that gives them enough play to grab and release. Drag disappeared; the old girl ran like she should.

Had a similar problem with my shoprider te888's there are 2 possible solutions that I have found.
1. dirt had been picked up in the pad that acts as a brake, causeing the motor to drag and speed up, found this after almost burning my hand on end of motor with brake. disassembling the brake and cleaning with an alchohol soultion fixed this one.
2. Loose wire to battery post, or corrosion on battery connectors can cause this too. found loose terminal on battery by tightening nut where wire attached.drove me nuts for days till I decided to tighten with wrench rather than finger tight... On my scooter it would slow down do to excessive current draw because of bad connection and controller would shutdown, which meant ubrut stop. Showed up mainly when climbing long grade up driveway.
hope this helps
