Why is it not drying clothes in a timely manner?

Two common causes of this. First check for a blocked exhaust vent. Often the opening where the vent leaves the home has a grid of some sort to prevent critters from entering the duct. This grid often collects lint that gets past the lint filter. Visually inspect it and clean if needed. Once you determine that air is flowing well, check that the vent pipe gets hot. If it is not getting hot, your heating element may be burnt out and need to be replaced.

Why would a kenmore dryer get too hot?

Most likely cause would be that you need to clean the vent pipe.
Failure to clean the lint filter could also do the same thing. If the dryer vent pipe is clogged at some point the thermal fuse will open and the dryer hill no longer heat.
Lots of videos on youtube about cleaning dryer vents.

Dryer smoking up house and threw exhaust vent smells like something burnt

Hello, Well the smell is most likely from lint that is trapped in the dryer burning. The first thing you need to do is check the lint screen just inside the door. Second is to take the vent tube off of the back of the dryer and check to see if it is plugged with lint inside of the dryer. Clean out any you can see, also if the tubing inside of the dryer is most likely plugged with lint and the heating element is catching the lint on fire. If let go without cleaning this will cause a fire! I work for an appliance repair company and have seen dryers catch fire due to them being clogged with lint, you have two options; first is to clean it yourself, second is to have an appliance repair technician come to your home and clean it. The second is easier and safer but the first is cheaper but very labor intensive. I hope that answered your question and helped. Good luck!

Dryer has to run two or three times to dry clothes seem to be hot enought. any suggestions

Check your lint filter. Keep it clean every time you dry clothes. If it is clean ther is a good chance the hose that carries the hot air and lint from machine to the outside of the building. Also the lint fan may be burned ot. YOu should feel air blowing when you pull the lint filter out of the machine. If not the motor is shot.

What else should I look for to make my dryer get hhotter? I've made sure the lint screen is clean and to vent pipe is new

Hello. Also make sure that there is no lint buildup inside the dryer where the vent pipe inserts into the rear of the dryer. Finally go outdoors where the vent dumps the hot, wet air and remove any lint buildup and make sure the vent door works easily. IF it does not, replace that piece.

Kenmore Elite Heavy Duty Dryer 11063012101 Takes Forever to Dry

I think your vent has lint in the line between the wall and the outside of your house not allowing the moisture to get out

FIX

1 when the dryer is running go outside and observe the vent to see if hot air is coming out

2 Turn dryer off, disconnect electric from wall

3 pull dryer out from wall

4 take a nut driver or screw and remove the clamp that attaches the flex vent pipe to the wall

4 Also remove the flex pipe from the dryer

5 Inspect inside vent connection inside dryer for any trapped lint

6 inspect inside flex line for any lint

7 Look inside wall vent for lint you can also reach in with your hand to feel for lint

8 If you have a leaf blower or can borrow one(electric is best) from your neighbor put the snout of the blower into the vent going into the wall seal the area between the snout and the vent pipe at the wall ( i use duct tape you can use wash clothes rags etc

9 start blower and blow any lint in the line out through outside THIS WILL CLEAR THE LINT

10 Reattach the flex to the wall vent and dryer , plug in. run a load and you should be back in business

Good Luck

Smells hot what do I need to check?

Check your vent to the outside to make sure it is clear of obstructions, lint build up, water retention due to a sagging vent, etc.
