Question about Mitsubishi WS-48413 48" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television

1 Answer

I own a WS-48413 Mitsubishi 48" projection TV that has been working great for 7 years. Now all of a sudden there is no sound, only a picture. Tried to trouble shoot with the manual, but no luck. Is there is quick fix for this issue? Thank you. Anna

Amlupo,

If the picture is good and you use Comcast as your cable supplier I believe that your Comcast converter box is bad. This is a very common problem and an easy one to fix. Call Comcast and tell them the problem and they should replace the box for free.

Thanks for using FixYa and for the great rating.

Thanks for responding to my question about the ws-48413 mitsubishi. I'm exausted from fooling with this tv. The only other thing i can think of is I wonder if this entone 450 is compatable with this tv....

Just surf the site I given here. It has set-up code list; such that, it has selected from different brand remote controls; with different TV brands. The list is published in the alphabetical order of the brand name to the set. I recall that I've seen about 8 posts there, with alphabetical order of TV brand name, and the code list to each of them; with different brand TVs.
Check all the posts. You will get a suitable code; complactable to your Mitsubishi TV to Entone brand remote control. Surf the site with patience.

No picture ws 48413

Most likely if sound not coming from surround or cable box the set is blanking all three of the picture tubes this model uses---it will do that for several different reasons= problem at the tubes (a voltage missing there or excessive to prevent screen damage on the tubes.

One of the secondary voltages going to that board (one for each tube). The set monitors Screen voltage, High Voltage, and secondary Vertical deflection (loss of main vertical would trigger shutdown of set)

In short no one easy answer for this as it could be for a variety of reasons===would actually be more easy if the set and the power light just went off==set has a self check that would detect an error in that case and record it===can call that up even if set just comes on for an instant and then off.

I have a WS-55805. Was working great, then suddenly no picture, just audio. When I press the Menu button, I get the menu but I see three separate colors for each menu item. Could this be the lamp, or...

This TV does not have a single lamp but a set of CRT tubes.

If you get menu displayed on wrong clors or colors are not matching then it is either a bad CRT, a bad CRT high voltage power board, or sometimes a problem with convergence board and convergence ICs, however in this last case you usually get no picture and no sound .

You can get service manual from link below:

What happens

you have the V17+ chassis. The error code blinks a 2 digit code. So yours is either blinking a 12 for no error or a 21 for xray protect shutdown. Count the blinks carefull. it should blink a number pause then blink the second number. You will no doubt need the service manual. I have a good source for mitsubishi service manuals. Let me know if youd like more info and let me know what you discover with the blinking Led.

the dlp will most likely need a qualified mits repair center to take over for you. repairing that set is pretty involved. and the parts you would need are not available to the public.
on your 48" CRT projection check the DM module for 4 vented 1000mf 16v capacitors. replacement should get you tv working great
