On the front of the drum cartridge there is a green cover, Behind that cover is a set of gears , one with a flag like actuator on it.
Most likely the flag dropped in shipping and did not reset the drum replacement switch.
You can either try popping that cover off and resetting that foag to the up and right position or take the cartridge back for replacement.

That worked. I had to take the green cover off, the gear with the flag was jammed. I released the jam and positioned the gear ad described. The light went off.
Thank you very much. Xerox wouldn't even try to find a solution.
Many thanks.

How do i reset my drum for xerox workcentre 7345

You can't reset the drums counter on the machine. The drum has what they call a CRUM on it. It's the micro chip on the drum frame. You can buy new CRUM's or use one that still has some life on it. Press the two plastic retainers to remove the CRUM.

I have a xerox xc1044 Copier. I know the unit well. I have been able to fool the toner that there is not problem. The Drum light comes on. The drum looks good and I have opened and completely cleaned out...

When did you replaced the drum for the last time, or how old is the printer, optical insppection on the drum is not enough to say that there is no need to replace it.

DRUM LIFE WARNING WON'T GO AWAY AFTER REPLACING DRUM.

find the box that the drum came in. There should be directions to reset the drum light enclosed. Or go to www.xerox.com , then look under support and drivers. Good luck !

I have a very old, but working, copier Xerox XC1040. It is blinking "H." What do I need to do?

To reset the H3 or H4 condition on your Xerox XC1040 copier press the following key's in sequence and as quickly as possible (with 4 seconds for the first 4 keys)
Press "C" then the far left key (exposure mode) then the "C" key then the far left again.
So in other words C, far left, C, far left
If done correctly the display should go blank.
Now key in 14 as if you were going to make 14 copies.
Now press the print button.
The machine should reset and the code should be gone.
9 times out of 10 this is a false code that pops up due to power surges or noise.
If the code comes back this means you have a heater lamp or thermal fuse (more common) failure in the fusing area and will need service.
If this solution works for you then please leave a positive feedback and testimonial for me.
Thanks,

We have a Xerox Workcentre Pro575; it has an error that says drum life warning; we replaced the drum with another drum that we know works, but the error stays on. What else can this error mean

NOTE: Perform the following procedure to reset the Drum Cartridge counter after you replace the Drum Cartridge. Do not perform this procedure at any other time.
  1. From the Standby Mode, press the [Menu] (up arrow) button, then press [5], [2], [0], [4]. The screen will display: Change drum.
    1. Yes
    2. No
  2. Press [1], then press [Enter]. The screen will display: Completed.
  3. Press [Stop] to return to the Standby Mode.

Xerox WorkCentre XD105f auto doc feed fails. The roller does not descend far enough to contact the page being fed

There is a spring wound clutch that is slipping in the doc feeder.
You can try cleaning it or google a place called The Parts Drop.
Call and ask for Britt he can help you with ordering the right part at a fair price.
