Carburator removal partner k 750

Remove the covers and the air filter, the screw heads are Torq 27, with the covers removed, insert a Torq 27 tool through the small hole in the black air filter housing ( close to the back of the cylinder ) and undo the screw that goes into the cylinder, now grab the air filter housing and pull firmly toward the back of the machine, it will come away as an assembly along with the carb, lift up far enough to un clip the throttle rod from the trigger, un hook the fuel hose from the carb, you will now have the assembly away from the machine.

I have a Sears\Craftsman edger-eager 1 with a 3.8hp tecumseh motor. Recently I had to remove the carburator and of course didn't look to see where the linkage would attach back. Could someone pleae...

Look at the wear marks and dirt lines on the attaching plate. Once I got it messed up and now I take a picture with my phone before disconnecting anymore. If it is trying to throttle down instead of throttling up then you are on the wrong side of the shaft (pivot point).

I hope this helps get you going.

Put a new carburator on and don't know how to hook

Hi janemueller...

Normally the big line will be the line the fuel filter is connected to inside of the tank. The smaller of the two lines is the return to the fuel tank from the carburetor after it is pumped thru the carburetor by the primer bulb.

I had to replace the gas tank on my stihl km 110r. After I replaced it the throttle is locked on high the moment I pull the start cord. It runs on nearly full power and then after a while starts to cut out...

the return spring on the carburator is come undone. this should be a light spring that pulls the butterfly closed and pulls against the wire from the throttle control and the arm that hooks the butterfly to the auto throttle advance. look for a loose spring and then make sure that both ends of the throttle control cable move and are hooked up. you should see the butterfly on the carb. move back and forth when you change throttle position.

What connects the throttle linkage to the carburator? is it a spring or rod

It's actually a combination of both. There should be a small rod at one side of a small plate, (which acts like a cam) and a spring on the other side. The throttle cable pulls the plate and rod, expanding the spring at the same time. When the cable is relaxed the springs pulls the linkage back.

Could some one tell us how the excelerator pump linkage on the float bowl side hooks up to the engine, that's a carburator for a 1968 chevy step van. the carburator is a rochester monjet # 7040021

Looking at an exploded view of your carburator in my Chilton book it would appear to me that the accelerator pump hooks to the throttle linkage on the opposite side from the throttle cable. On that end it shows a small plate that screws into the throttle shaft. This plate has 2 links attached to it, one of which should line up with a hole in the side of the main body. You will probably have to push the pump down by hand to line up the hole in the bottom of the pump arm with the hole in the body and attach the linkage.
There is no specific info in the book regarding this, just the diagram. Hope this helps.

I need to know how to hook up linkage for throttle.

Take off the two scress that bind the throttle to the shaft, within the throttle you will see your cable at the hand lever end. The cable will slide out of a hole in the lever. The other end is attached to the carburator by a little ben in the wire. Use needlenose plyers to remove from the throttle body of the carburator, replace as dismantled. Your good to go.

Throttle linkage for Poulan 1950le

Most times the thottle wire end is "Z' shape. The end of the wire is passed thru the carburator throttle lever untill the wire is past the first bend, the wire is laid over so that the travel of the wire is parallel to the swing of the throttle lever. Many times both end of the wire are the same or one end has a taller mid section to fit thru the hole in the plastic (if it's plastic) hand throttle end.
