I have a new ryobi ry09050 blower/vacuum and it is almost impossible to start. I Cranked for 30 minutes and no luck, not even a hint orf startion'g I would like a manual for this machine. It is either flooded or is not getting enough gas. I followed the directions to start the blower. No luck I took sparkpluig out and it was dry so I added gas and replaced sparkplug. What should the carb settings be? Should the gas oil mixture be 40:1 or 50:1. What is the spark plug gap?

Take the carby in for overhaul and new diaphragm kit fitted
the main diaphragm is hard and not sealing on the holes so it is not pumping fuel
40: 1 or 50: 1 is alright and the gap is .020-.025"

why I say that is that stihl use an oil that mixes as 50:1 but it is suitable for the full range of ratios in the stihl range of engines
makes no difference what brand of engine , the ratio is to ensure enough oil to lubricate the bearings and cylinders

That fuel/oil mix ratio should be 32to1 or 32 ounces gasoline to 1 ounce oil. You will have to make up a new mix and probably clean the fuel system and the spark plug before it will start.

No spark

Try changing the spark plug. These two cycle engines are really rough on plugs.

What type of oil do i add to the gas for a ry30240 weedeater?

Any type of 2-cycle engine oil will work fine. Just make sure it is 2-CYCLE engine oil, and not motor oil! Also, mix it at a ratio of about 1 part oil, to 40 parts Gas. Hint: The Ryobi equipment seems to like the 87 octane better than the low grade fuel, especially in high temps! Good luck!

Have a ryobi ss26 weed whacker and having a problem getting it started.. the instruction manual is missing and after priming the unit, moving it to full and trying to crank it, it will not hit and when it...

Sounds like you need a new spark plug and probably a new gas filter. To start the weed eater it is recommended to pump the primer bulb seven times and the choke full down. You can get the fuel filter out of the tank with a hooked wire. Good luck.

I have the Ryobi RY09050 gas blower/ vacuum brand new bought from Home Depot. I try to start it cold as said in the manual. I pull, and pull, and pull, and pull on a flat surface and it does not even...

i would check for spark, if it has spark, then I would pour a little mixed gas down the into the cylinder, reinsert spark plug and then try starting it again, if it starts then dies. Then it is not getting gas for some reason. Hope this helped Tim

How do you put a new pull cord on?

With great difficulty on that machine!!!

Its a "Half Cranked" engine (which is cheap and nasty) meaing the recoil / pull cord is located between the shaft of the brushcutter and the engine (NOT on top of the engine like proper "Full Cranked" engines are).

You will have to remove the engine to do this and probably loose the will to live in the process! Bin it and buy a Stihl bent shaft trimmer instead

Ryobi 720r weedeater. Starts, stalls, won't start.

When you rebuilt the carb did you remove and replace the welch plugs. If you did not, then that is probably where your problem is. Debris, varnish and corrosion can build up under the welch plugs and the unit will not pass fuel.
