Question about Car Audio & Video

Approximately 2 years after purchasing a new Honda Accord LX 2003, the CD changer stopped accepting CD's. I don't think there is a CD in the changer. The Dealer tells me that I must replace the entire Stereo system at a cost of $500 plus. Is there an alternative

You can buy a standard cd player for your car or find another one with the changer and put it in your car and save a ton of money. I would first pull out the old one and then take it to an electronics store and see if they can fix it. If not, then buy a new one and install it yourself. Usually they have clips that can be unclipped by sliding a knife down the side of the unit. Go and get yourself a Haynes or Chilton manual if you plan on a lot of do-it-yourself repairs on this car. It should give detailed directions for your car with diagrams. They are about $20 from any car parts store and well worth it.

my best to you on this

If you are sure a DVD is not stuck or failed to eject, then pull the unit and take it to a factory authorized Honda radio repair shop, the dealer can give you the name of a local facility, I am sure it will cost less than $500.00 most likely around $200 or there abouts. The dealer charges a premium on the repair the radio shop does, so if the dealer bill is $200.00, then they will most likely (based on dealership policy) double it to $400.00. Pulling the radio should be a piece of cake.

2007 honda pilot radio code

Typically to get the code you have to have the serial number of the unit and call a Honda dealership to get the code. Sometimes in years gone by, there was a credit card sized card that had a sticker with the serial number and code. Sometimes the sticker is even stuck on the owners manual or the inside of the glovebox.

It sound like you are going aftermarket so I would think that the code is not needed as the code was only for the factory radio itself, not the rest of the system (speakers, etc..) Call the radio installer and ask but I don't think you need the code.
