I have a sharp fax machine model fo-3150. When the fax prints, it has black lines along the sides of the paper. The fax has a total of 14,500 pages on the life use number. I just had the drum replaced in September 2010. I put a new toner in about a week ago. Everything has been printing clear fro the past week until today and it has black lines along the sides of the paper. I took out the toner and drum and there was black toner on the drum. I cleaned it off and out it back but the black lines are still on the paper when I print.

Check and see if your fax has a power save button next to your LCD screen. Pressing it will store everything into memory or you could do a flash memory clear however you will lose everything that is stored in memory(RX and TX only). Press FUNCTION , 9,*,8,#,7 then press start, next press your # key to scroll to flash memory. Press start. This should fix it.

You have a bad laser unit that can't be replaced.
