Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

The images on my computer screen shake back and forth making it difficult to read. I tried hooking up my screen to another computer and the images were fine. Some one suggested to me that it may be the video card. The computer is an emachine T6414. What should I do?

First step, Go into your Control Panel and find the Display settings. In the display settings there should be a tab to adjust the monitor. Try changing the Screen refresh rate. Also, make sure you have the latest drivers for your video card and operating system.

Read error appears after downloading pictures and looking back in the camera, some pictures have read error

When you hook your camera to your computer you are accessing it like a disk and changes made to "files" are saved to the disk. A common change is to rotate the image so it views correctly on the computer screen for images you turned the camera to take a portrait oriantation shot. That change is saved to the image on disk, then the camera can no longer display it because it is not the right "dimensions" for the camera (it is rotated)

Display shakes on monitor

Try these, 1) check the pins on the leads into monitor and computer thy tend to bend,
2) check there is no mains near the cables or monitor, it can cause feed back (EMF)
3) check the graphic card "if fitted " is not lose, unplug computer, then switch on comp without plug in socket, this will purge the board of any electicity, remove graphic card check for dust ect clean and then replace, put plug back in socket and switch on.
4) when a moniter is first switch on it purges the screen "degauses" "maybe spelt wrong" if it is constantly doing this it will be a fault within the screen.
5) Try a different cable that you know works it could be a break in the cable someware.

LCD is not displaying

I am not familiar with this particular camera, but if there is any other form of viewfinder on it, there is probably a way to switch the picture back and forth from the LCD display to the viewfinder. Personally I would not buy a camera without a viewfinder, but right now, the only companies who make cameras with an optical viewfinder are Canon and Sony, and even they are getting away from it! Shame on them!

The other type of viewfinder that works well is the type that reads the CCR image onto a smaller screen to use as a viewfinder, like my Kodak Z712, or the Nikon P-80, I think it is, with the 18X Zoom.

One of my issues is that I like to take available light photos outdoors at night, and the LCD screen simply is not bright enough to show the image, even though the camera is able to make a decent photograph in that light.

Most cameras will let you shut the LCD screen off to save battery power, so you will have to find out what every button on the camera will do, and make sure that the screen is powered on. It may also be that you have to recharge or replace the battery in order to have enough power to turn the screen on.

Of course, as we say in the computer world, RTFM! Most of your questions will be covered in the manual, so read it from cover to cover, with the camera in front of you. I was a freelance photojournalist for two decades, and trust me, there are still things I won't know about a new camera without either reading the manual, or experimenting.

Monitor screen shaking and flickering

Check to make sure the cables are connected tightly. Wiggle the cable, does it get better or worse? Might need a new cable. And reseat the video card inside the computer. If that doesn't fix it, then yes you will probably need a new monitor.

Monitor problem - images are "shaky".

are you using the onboard graphics card? if yes try using a plug in card in the AGP slot to see if it makes a difference. It sounds like either an onboard graphics chip problem or a motherboard problem. come back to me for more emachine support, One of my specialised fields is in these computers.

I`ll have to be the bearer of bad news, the image is not burned onto the screen it is burned into all 3 of your picture tubes, which basically means the set is junk because the cost is too high.
