Connect directly to your netgear via lan network by straight cable, from your pc or laptop goto command prompt and type ipconfig.
it will display your ip add, subnet and default gateway.
eg.
ip address...........192.168.1.1
subnet mask.......255.255.0.0
default gateway...192.168.1.100

open your web browser e.g internet explorer or firefox , type the default gateway the one that you have not the example to the http then press enter, it will ask you for a username and password, sometimes the default is admin for the username and admin for the password. if it will work you can now configure your netgear.if not try to reset your neatgear to its default settings and then try again, dont loose hope.....

How do you istall software for a netgear wireless adapter n300 without source cd

Get a usb flash drive and go to the library or a computer hooked to the Internet, and download the installation software from the Netgear site. Then plug that usb flash drive into the computer and install the netgear wireless adapter.

Good luck on this.

Set up my netgear router. laptops show that they are wirelessly connected to the main computer, but we cant get them to connect to the internet. also lost the netgear cd that came with router. do we need...

The netgear router installation will set up the internet connection during install.
Download the Router driver from netgears website and install on the computer/s then your up and running.
it appears you wireless card is seeing the router so just install the drivers and your set.

Trouble connecting on my NETGEAR WGR614v7 router. I'vechecked all the cable & surely they are all correct. I've change the security network key on my security network properties. Please help asap!

Hi there are you using this wirelessly? it sounds that the network key on your PC doesnt match to the one that is stored on the router. therefore you will not be able to connect.

Hi,lost laptop wireless connection to my netgear WGT624v3. It detects the router is there but says 'aquiring network address' laptop works ok if i plug it direct to the hub port... any ideas appreciated....

try setting the channel to 11, but it depends on your location, for the best connection try finding the right channel that suites your locations.

sometimes there are alot of devices that can interfere with the signal coming from the router.

for your reference try this link for wireless range.

I have a problem with my netgear routeer WGR614v7 since Thursday I have not been able to get a connection to my internet on my lab top with the this router can you help

If the router has defaulted to 192.168.1.1 and you are using dsl modem then you have a problem as dsl use the same IP address.

If you are not using dsl or if the default IP of the router is 192.168.0.1, then
  1. check to see if the uplink cables are attached between the router and the modem
  2. The wireless radio is turned on.
Under normal conditions if the unit "all of a sudden doesn't connect to the internet",
  1. turn off the modem
  2. turn off the router
  3. wait 15 seconds
  4. turn them back on.
