Question about Sony CMT-HPX9 CD Shelf System
You must have a RCA plug to Baby plug cable for the connection. See below picture.
Hook up the the baby plug(black) to your ipod where your headset inserted.
Hook up the RCA plug (red and white) to the auxiliary input(back panel) of your Sony. Then select the Auxiliary input button to the front panel.
Play the ipod, the music(sound) will be heard now at the speaker of your Sony shelf system.

Yes that cable will help.Just take care the cable connects properly and it should remain tight.If the cable gets loose, then you will notice static.Thanks for the update.Thanks.Helpmech.
