Hi, If you've still not managed to solve the problem you could try flashing the firmware & upgrading it to the latest version.
I've also had the same problem with several writers, One External Liiteon USB 8x DVD Writer, and an NEC 3570a 16x DVD Writer, and have managed to resolve the problems on both occassions. However, like anything PC Related there always runs the risk of either failing to flash the drive, or the possibility that it will no longer decide to want to read/write to any sort of blank media whatsoever!!
Basically, the way I looked at it with my 2 drives, were that A) they were both past their warranty dates, & B) I Could get a brand new 20x Pioneer DVD Writer for under 15 quid, so if you have the cash to splash, then I'd say you have nothing to loose by flashing your drive.
I've also pasted the Disclaimer which u may want to read before you continue to download the firmware. (It just basically Explains what I've already mentioned, but the full text is there for you reading pleasure if need be!
Disclaimer
The firmware you have selected to download is provided to you by ILY Enterprise, Inc. Although special attention is taken to make sure that this download will not harm your duplicator controller or system in any way, please note that you flash your controller with this firmware at your own risk. ILY Enterprise Inc. will not be held responsible for any damage to your duplicator controller or system.
By downloading and flashing or using this firmware, you agree to accept all responsibility and accept that by doing so you will have no legal right to compensation from ILY Enterprise Inc. if problems should arise.
BY USING THE FIRMWARE YOU EXPRESSLY ASSUME ALL RISK OF LOSS ASSOCIATED WITH ANY DATA LOSS OR DAMAGE ALLEDGED TO HAVE BEEN CAUSED BY THE FIRMWARE.
So if you chose to accept this mission (LOL) you can download the latest firmware for your Wytron 688 DVD Duplicator here:
http://www.ily.com/firmware/Wytron%20Version%203.39%20&%203.35%20(DVD688,%20DVD668).zip
The Download "Save As" Box should pop up, then when downloaded follow these instructions (and any if given when the file is extracted).
Good Luck Mate :) You should not have any probs whatsoever, and if it makes you feel any better, the firmware will not flash your drive if it's found to be an incompatable version for one reason or another.
Let us know if u already have it sorted, or how u get on if you go through with it :-).
Cheers Mixtrixx
