There is only one DIMM slot in the printer.
Unplug the printer, disconnect the interface cable.
Remove the right side cover by sliding it to the rear.
Open the metal access door by pulling on the metal tab located at the left side of the door.
You will see the DIMM, reseat it, plug in the power cord and power up. It will power on with these covers open. If the error comes back, you will have to buy a replacement DIMM. Take the bad one with you to match. BestBuy, Radio Shack or any computer store even Walmart should carry them. They are "keyed", so they only can go in one way.

    Reset what?
The only way to get rid of the problem if reseating didn't fix it, is to replace it. It will reset itself.

What does printer code "mem test failure 1/6

Hello carmen_alley,
This means the memory test process failed due to a bad module. DIMM ( Dual In-line Memory Module ) is the memory of your printer. It is really similar to computer RAM (memory).
If the printer is under warranty I would contact the manufacturer for a repair/replacement. If it is not, I would still contact them and get further information on what DIMM you would need to purchase to replace the bad one.
Hope this helps!

Mem test failure replace dimm 1

As the message says, DIMM 1 failed.
It's pretty straight forward fix for a tech.
So the cost should be minimal for the labor and whatever the
replacement DIMM costs.

My printer shows memory error on its screen why?

Mem test failure replace Dimm 0 or Mem test failure replace Dimm 1
If either of the are the messages displayed, the problem lies with the mother board (formatter).
DIMM 0 = On Board Memory - cannot be changed. DIMM 1 = Add On Ram - Can be Changed
Make Sure the printer firmware is up to date FIRMWARE
Most Likely the formatter board would require replacing.

The printer states mem test failure replace dimm 0, what is this and how much does it cost?

Dimm 0 is the memory that is onboard the Format board, you can't just replace it like a memory upgrade where you would add another dimm. You would have to replace the whole format board, part number Q7848-61006. cost all depends on how much you shop around.

Mem Test Failure Replace Dimm

The biggest problem with the P3005 is the main board. There has been a warranty extension on the P3005 if it is the main board.

it maybe a memory problem too, but unless you added memory, its usually part of the main board.

Printer hangs and after displays a message"MEM TEST FAILURE REPLACE DIMM 0"

This is a straightforward error message saying that the first bank of memory is defective and needs repalcing. All you need to do is locate the module in the memory bay and replace it with a similar one. These only cost a few dollars so it is avery cheap repair.

Printer hangs and gives a message"MEM FAILURE REPLACE DIMM 0"

You would need to replace dimm memory if you have spare one. Or try to remove it and install it again
