Happens to all paper types (thick / thin) ?

The only thing that you can do is to clean the (accessible) paper feed guides / rollers.

If that doesnt fix the problem, there's not much you can do.

Have it serviced or replaced (if warranty permits).

Hi,
The problem you are facing is beacuse of the feed rollers are out of alignement. Check for any stuck paper shreds on the rollers. Clean them using a brush or moist cloth.
Turn the printer upside down and shake it a bit. Then check for the paper feed problem. If no go , you need to replace the feed rollers on the printer. Contact HP support for the same or a local repair man

Thanks

Play with traction wheels and feed rollers, see if one of them is not picking the paper.

Follwo this:

  • Isolate the jam by determining where it is occurring. This sounds much easier than it looks because a jam can be caused by more than one thing, and some jams do not occur frequently enough to be isolated. Solid failures are easier to isolate. Is it happening as the paper goes in, while it's coming out, or somewhere in between? Turn off the printer's power if the jam is far inside the printer. You can tell how far along the jam is by how much of the paper has already emerged onto the paper output tray. If you see only an inch of paper poking out--or none at all--chances are there's some ugly stuff going on in the inside of the printer. You don't know until you look inside whether a part was merely out of place, constituting an isolated incident or whether internal wear and tear has been building up for a long time, which means you have a festering problem on your hands.

  • Once the jammed paper is discovered, grasp it firmly with both hands and pull straight so the paper doesn't tear. It is very important to use both hands, leveraging your strength on both sides of the paper because you could create more problems if it tears inside the printer.

If the paper happens to rip, rotate the gears by hand to back the remainder of the paper out of the printer.

    Hope that helps.......

When you put the paper in, the rails touching the side of the paper may be to tight, so adjust it. Another reason may be you're putting the right corner of the paper inside first, that's why it kicks to the right. Put it in straight, meaning both corners in at the same time. Another reason may be the roller and/or other parts may be disaligned. Refer to the trouble shooting part of the manual, either in the computer or on a printed out company for further advice. You may have to get somebody to open it up and make sure everything is in place.

    Hope this helps

Sometimes this happens when the paper is too thin. Have you tried ordinary substance 20 paper? Also see if the guide for the paper is set correctly according to the size of the paper that you are using.

The printer should be on,remove the paper from the printer(if there is any),press and hold the down arrow/cancel button, release the button when the power light blinks 3 times ... The printer will rollers will automatically revolce and clear all the jams.. When the power light is green then repeat the same step 3-4 times.. To confirm the paper jam is cleared then feed 8 1/2 * 11 paper in the printer and again press the down arrow button and release the button once the power light bliks for 3 times and then release the button. If the printer feeds properly it confirms the hardware of the printer is fine.
Software issue: Go to printer and faxes in computer and check the icon. If it says.. 0 paper jam then, delete the icon and chcek in the device manager if there is an entry of usb printing support under Universal Serial Bus controller .. if the entry is there then delete it. Insert the printer cd in the computer and unplug and replug the usb cable from the printer. If the setup screen comes up then exit out of it and the printer drivers will get updated. After that tried to print another tets page from the computer. It will definately print.

If your printer jams frequently, you may be loading too much paper.
This can also occur if you've had jams in the past and have a piece of
debris still stuck in the printer. Use a flashlight to examine the
entire mechanism to ensure no paper is still inside. This can also
happen if an internal gear is damaged. You will often notice one side
being fed faster than the other. This could me the printer is
physically damaged and needs to be replaced or repaired.

Sometimes most likely culprit is that the rollers that pull the paper are dirty. Use the steps below to clean the rollers.

      1) Confirm that the printer is powered on.
      2) Remove any paper from the printer.

      3) Press and hold the button.
      4) Release the button after the Power lamp blinks three times.

Note: The Power lamp will blink and the paper feed roller starts cleaning itself by revolving.
      5)
When the Power lamp lights in green, repeat Steps 3 and 4 up to two
additional times. (Please wait approx. 30 seconds for paper feed roller
      cleaning to complete.)
      6) To confirm whether cleaning has been
performed properly, set a blank sheet of plain paper (8 1/2 x 11 Letter
size) in the sheet feeder or cassette.
      7) Press and hold the
button and release it when the Power lamp blinks
three times. (The paper set in the printer is picked up and fed.)
      8) Repeat the process as necessary

      Hope this may help;

Printer pulls paper to right side jams does not print

usually this indicates some foreign object on the opposite side where the paper goes in. Please check to see if you have some small pieces of paper or something else in the paper path area.

also, another possibility is that your pickup roller is missing, dirty or damaged. try cleaning it too.

My cannon printer keeps saying alarm 32 what does this mean

You may have to open and shut a door to make it reset. There is a sensor detecting something or claiming too. The paper tends to load on the right side and not the left. The paper goes in sideways and therefore jams. This seems to be a common complaint with this printer.

When printing, the paper is grabbed by one side and prints wonky. It seems to print better when selecting Matte card, but then uses more ink. How can i get it to print straight on plain paper?

On the paper tray there is a move-able guide, when you place a number of sheets in the paper tray you need to adjust this guide so that the paper is held in place with no sideways movement.....

If this guide is not in the right place the paper can be pulled to one side by paper pick up...

If the guide is set right and it still happens, get a torch and take the paper out of the tray and look down in where the paper goes.

There may be an obstruction in the side of the feeder.

This could be a small piece of paper or another object...

Paper feed problem from both tray 1 & 2

There is a long set of sensor flags on the bottom of the paper input unit that can get stuck and not move freely. This will cause jams from both trays. Try unplugging the printer, removing the toner cartridges and tray 2. Turn the printer on its back or side. You will see a long, black plastic bar with flags on it that runs the length of the paper input unit. make sure it moves freely.
