    Problem not solved

  • maureenmc163 Apr 05, 2011

Thank you it worked. The pictures are in a number of thumb prints. How do I get them into one folder and on my list?

  • maureenmc163 Apr 05, 2011

All the pics are in My Documents/My Scans.

I followed your instructions to transfer them to "my pictures" and it worked but they are all little thumb nail size and I want them in a folder and on the list of "my pictures" folders, which no longer appears when I open "My Pictures".

  • maureenmc163 Apr 06, 2011

I got the pics into "my pictures" but they are about 50 small thumb prints. How do I put them into a folder. I have tried everything I can think of but nothing works.

If they are in photo shop means you have them saved somewhere right ??

if you did save them follow these if not skip these 1 in photoshop and click file save as to see the location. like where its saved. e.g my destktop, my computer , c:=programs files.. anyway we just need to figure out the location.

once done, clikc start , my computer and browse to the location. or my documents or where ever they are.

by default hp scans to my documents, hp , scans or photos.

any way once you find them ,, click edit select all or press and hold ctrl than press a, then press and hold ctrl and press c,, go to my pictures, and press and hold ctrl and press v (basically copy and paste)

If you did not save them.

click file save as, click my pictures, type in a file name and hit save. you have to do this for every image you scanned.

oh photo shop essentials,, ok thought i was photo shop what you have is an image viewer. ok,, that means the images are already saved on your computer, the problem is to find them ,, check your mydoucments directory, look in every folder until you find it.. basically follow method 1 listed above the images are already saved to your harddrive.

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Apr 05, 2011

my guess is ,, my documents, hp. scanned images

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Apr 05, 2011

did you find the documents on your harddrive ??
when you scaned them where were they saved too ,, to open in essentials .. it has to be saved on your harddrive..
check my documents folder, look for hp and scans and see if its in there.. also check your my pictures folder just in case.

essentials is just a program like a view NO PICTURES ARE IN THE PROGRAM , the program allows you to view whats saved on your harddrive. the pictures are not past of essentials.

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Apr 05, 2011

copy them and paste them to where u need them..

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Apr 05, 2011

OK found it installed it and walking you through step by step..

1.) Open photostart essentials. the same program you were talking about

2.) on the left side of the screen see a lit of catagoies ,, like C;\ documents \ pictures ..

3.) find which folder has the pictures in my case my documents \ hp \ scans. so click start, my documents \ hp\ scans ,, selet all the images ctrl and a and cut them ctrl and x,, go to my pictures and paste them , ctrl and v

it already in my pictures ....

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Apr 05, 2011

the thumbnails is windows way of letting you see whats in the file this can be changed, go back to my pictures, right click in an empty white spot, select view and then change it to,, filmstrip, actually in view u can select any settings you want , it shows it up differently!!

  • Rishi Roshan Ali Apr 06, 2011

the thumbnails themselves represent the files or pictures. so well call them files .. select all of them, ctrl + a or hold ctrl and click 1 at a time or hold shift select the first one the the last one.

ok once you have them all select hold ctrl and press x this will cut them..

now right click in an empty white spot, click new then click folder, type in a name for your folder and hit enter
double click on the folder you created,, to enter it,,, then right click in a white spot and select paste..

there you go all files moved to new folder..

I am trying to scan documents and images into my computer and also email but apparently i can only choose from "scan and reprint" or "scan to memory card" options? Please help!!

If your HP Printer is connected to the computer it should be able to save the scanned images to your computer when you start the scanner using the scanner icon on your computer.
The the way is to save the images to your memory card and transfer them to your computer using a memory card reader, then you can email these images as a file attachment in your emails.

My hp photosmart 8886 dock will not transfer my pictures to my computer. I checked all of the cables and tried all of the USB ports on my computer. When I press the transfer button, it reads,...

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

I have a hp photosmart 6100 series. I need to scan to email. How do i do this? Thank you, Sarah

I have a new all-in-one. the way I do it may not be the most efficient but it works. I use Adobe Photoshop Starter Album 3.2 (Free).
Use the "File" tab to "get photos from scanner". It makes a copy in the "my pictures" folder under Adobe>scanned photos sub-folders.
Just find your picture, right click, select "send to">mail recipients and away you go.
You can also use the "share" option on the Photoshop toolbar and it places a copy of the item in the "outgoing email attachments" folder in your "my pictures" folder.

Hope this helps

Does your computer have Windows XP installed? If it has and you use the installation disk that came with your HP 2355 All-in-One you should be able to easily scan and save the photos to My Pictures.
After installing the features put a photo in the printer, go into My Pictures and you should get a message at the top of the menu on the left of the screen saying 'Get Pictures from camera or scanner'.
Clicking this brings up a screen which leads you through the Scanner and Camera Wizard for HP PSC 2350 Series.
I have scanned and saved many photos using this facility.
Hope this helps
