Question about Palm Treo 500 Centro
Okay.... here is the thing. This is a KNOWN issue associated with Palm devices and sometimes for some devices even a hard reset won't fix this.
There are only two reasons your device would be doing this:
If you bring your device into a service center (only with Sprint devices) or if you call your provider and explain this to them, you shouldnt be charged unless you have damage internally to your device. Hard resets sometimes helps but with Hotsync issues it is rare--I have revived 3 or 4 Centros by doing a Hard Reset and then Upgrading the software again and they worked fine, but you have already lost your information on your device if that is what you are worried about when it comes to Hard resetting.
If the hard reset doesnt work then you would definitely have to get another device which a service center can accommodate you with by ordering one to be sent to the store for you.

Hard Reset does nothing for this issue. You need to take it in to a tech...

Your battery sounds as though it is completely dead. When a phone uses an application like hotsync this will deplete your battery faster than anything else. My suggestion is this, take your phone to a dealer store and see if they have the Palm Centro model. Have them insert their model battery into your phone to see if your phone turns on. If it does, then you have eliminated the probable cause of not powering on. However, this will not resolve the issue about the auto sync issue which I suspect is depleting your battery. This may require an immediate hard reset, which sets your phone back to manufacturer setting and you lose all contacts and dowloads on phone. The reps should be qualtfied to do your hard reset for you. If your phone stops acting up you've solved your problem. if your phone continues to auto-sync you'll need to take it for repair. There is usually a fee if you do not have protection on the device.
