Using the main computer, open your Internet Explorer and on the Address Bar type http://192.168.1.1

It will prompt your for username and password. By default leave it blank on username and type admin on the password

Under SETUP tab, you can see there MTU, set it to Manual and set the size to 1400 then click on SAVE SETTINGS at the bottom.

Now powercycle your devices. Turn off router first and then modem. Wait for 30sec. Turn on modem first, wait for lights to stop blinking then turn onrouter.

That's it..

I'm having the same problem, the MTU test keeps failing. MY Xbox360 was working fine until about 1 day ago, possibly the start of the update. I've heard that Xbox live went back online, yet I'm still having the MTU failure.

Comment by ArenaBritt, posted on Sep 30, 2008

I am having the same problem, but I am thinking it is because of the update they are doing. They sent an E-mail saying it was going to be down Monday the 29th...

Have now seen this:

As we gear up to bring you the New Xbox Experience, Xbox LIVE and the Xbox LIVE page on Xbox.com will be down for 24 hours, beginning on September 29, 2008 from 12:01 AM PST until 11:59 PM PST. During this time you will not be able to access Xbox LIVE.
