Question about Whirlpool Washing Machines
This usually indicates that there is a problem with the inlet water valve. This can only be corrected by replacing the valve. It is attached to the plastic hose connections on the inside of the washer.
A quick temporary fix is to shut the main valves off behind the washer when it is not in use. This may be a little inconvenient until the problem is fixed. It will still leak a little but not enough to worry about.
The valve itself is not too expensive is should cost between $10 and $35. The labour charge will be what is standard in your area. Possibly around $100. About 1 hour labour.
