Question about Computers & Internet
Thank you for using FixYa
I do not know if any local repair store might be interested in trying to fix it, I doubt it. I have one that my wife uses, and our screen cracked also. The problem with those low end electronic components is that labor costs nearly prohibit fixing it compared to buying another one. We tried to take it apart ourselves and fix ours. I was able to get the screen off, but managed to chip one corner of the plastic case in the process, which I think I can glue it back on. If you are not familiar with small component repair, then it is probably not worth it since you can buy one for $89.00, used, on ebay. I did find a store online that has a replacement screen for about 20 bucks, but I am afraid trying to get it back together will be risky and I might just throw my money away.
