I want to enable java script on my new TCL as it won't let me go to do banking etc etc

Java script is mostly enabled from within your browser though in my experience it is usually there automatically and if it isn't it is because there is some sort of a problem, a virus or software glitch. I have read various articles intended to help with the problem but found them unhelpful because I can't understand the long words they use intended for computer professionals.

Sometimes Java Script has started to work again after many restarts and sometimes not. I have a couple of times got around the problem by using a different browser.

Sorry I can't help further.

Am having trouble installing Java 7 in Internet Expoler 9. When I do install it, it says that it has been installed, but it doesn't work on tet pages, even in compatibility mode. I'm an expert user, b

I am not an expert user so I don't know much about this but needing to contact a forum to solve a problem I learned the Java programme and Java Script that causes problems when it doesn't work are two different things.

Java Script, they told me, is not a standalone programme but a part of the Windows operating system. I can't remember the details but I had to open the control panel and somewhere in there had to "enable script".

I hope this helps.

How do I go about downloading java script?

Java script is native to all browsers. You may have it disabled. You will have to go into your browsers settings and enable java script within your browser. If you have any plugins such as "No Script" then you will need to disable them or uninstall them for Java script to work properly again.
If you meant to ask how to download Java (it is different than java script) then you would visit and download the software and install.
Seeing as you posted this as a Facebook problem I would be satisfied to say that your problem is java script is disabled in your browser settings.

What is java script

Java script is a program that works with other programs such as Adobe Flash Player and many others to procees and enable you to read and store items. You can get Java here;
If you were trying to watch YouTube you would have to have Java and a Flash Player in order for your system to process and play the video. I f you need Flash Player you can get that here;
You have to make sure you have no prior versions of either of these products so, check in device manager and make sure you don't have prior versions. If you do, unistall the prior versions before download od new versions.

The dialogue box on yahoo messenger does not show messages, whether those received or sent online or offline, i have deleted and reinstalled different versions but the problem still continues

The messages are probably not going to your account - check your login and password. Additionally, Yahoo does not seem to work properly unless Java is installed and working. For example it will not display animated emoticons and games will not work without java.

When visiting a site such as Friends Reunited I cannot view the site as I keep getting a message up with a yellow exclamation mark in a triangle saying: Error in addLoadEvent:(object error). I have typed...

It appears to be a Java script error.
The chances are some pages your are visiting are using Java script to deliver multilayer messages or adverts.
If you didn't have Java script installed on your machine you would get an error along the lines of "page was unable to load" so I am guessing your Java script needs updating.
Go to this site: you can either download Java or have the site check your computer to see if it has the latest copy(easiest method).
