Good day sir..

I'm sorry sir there's no way to scan a channel instead of using a remote control
but there's a solution for that...buy a universal remote control online..to eBay.com or amazon.com
that's the only way to solve your problem

thank you and good luck

How can I change to setchannel search auto or man on a westinghouse tv mod ltv20v2sl?thankyou

Since the LTV20V2SL only has an NTSC (analog tuner), you may need a set top box to receive any stations. If you have analog cable or are close to a low-power station that still broadcasts an analog signal, you need to follow the steps below.

First, make sure that the input is set to TV. On the remote, there is a TV button in the second row of buttons below the arrow keys. It's on the left below the MTS button. You could also use the TV/Video button on the top of the TV. It's the right-most button and each press of the button will move through the entire list of available inputs. You can use the original remote to select your signal type with the TV/CATV (Over-the-air or different types of cable TV) button. It's on the right hand side of the row with the TV button. Next press CH. Scan on the remote. It's the second button from the right above the arrow keys.

Alternatively, you can use the on-screen menu. Press the Menu button on the remote (on the left above the arrow keys) or TV (the left-most button). Then use the left/right arrows to navigate to the TV sub-menu. Use the up/down arrows to select the appropriate line. First, set the second line to the correct Input signal with the left/right arrows and press Enter to confirm your choice. Then go down a line and press the right arrow key to start the Auto Scan. Note the Channel up/down arrows are up/down and the Volume up/down are left/right if you use the TV buttons.

I hope this helps.

(If you are using a set-top box, you will need to do the channel scan for that device.)

How do I switch from catv to antenna on model mwc13d6

First make sure that the TV/DVD player is on TV by pressing the Channel Up. (The channel up/down will rotate through AUX and any programmed channels.) You'll need the original remote or an universal remote that matches the Set-up function. Then press Set-up on the remote; it's to the left of Mute above Play.
Use the Up/Down arrows to navigate to Channel Setup. Press Enter to access the Channel Setup menu. Use the Up and Down arrows to select Auto Ch Programming and press Enter. Wait for the TV to scan all available channels. Afterwards, you can go back to the Channel Setup menu and choose Add/Delete channels. Press Set-Up again to exit the On-screen menu system.

Unless you have a set-top Digital-to-Analog converter attached to the TV, you will only get one of the few remaining low power analog stations, if you are close to the transmitter. This set only has an NTSC tuner. Most set-top boxes can be attached to the Antenna input and be set to Channel 3 or 4 or connected to the Aux input.

0076 0107 0195 0601. Try these codes. If you wish to get more details; check the sites linked here. It has set-up code list & set-up procedure to many popular brand remote controls. Common codes to check devices with different brand TVs are given, in the order of the device's brand name list in alphabetical order. Pull up older posts. Surf the site with patience. Surf the sites by type in the brand name to your set, in its search box.

I want to go to channel 3 so i can go on cable , but the remote doesnt let me !

Hello; All TV's made in the last 20 years are computer controlled. The TV wants you to do a "scan ", so it can MEMORIZE all active channels. IF you are connecting your set to a cable BOX or OTHER, the set can only SEE the Channel 3 output from the boxes. No scan will work when doing this! In this case don't expect to be able to use the channel UP or Down keys on the set or remote, because the set does not know any channels due to no memory of a scan. You can, however key in the channel # and the set should go to that channel, unless the set is defective. John

Initial setup - I have Dish, is this cable or antenna? I selected antenna & now all I can get is "scanning channels". Also, I can't get back to select cable. How can I start over as if I...

Hello Susan,

I'm very sorry, my internet disconnected in mid-chat. To get back to set-up and select cable, please do the following:

1. Turn the TV off
2. Turn the TV back on
3. Press the "menu" button on the remote
4. Use the Down arrow on the remote to highlight the "TV" option - the third option down.
5. Press the "OK" button on the remote

You will now see options for "Tuner Mode", "Channel Scan" and "Channel skip" Make sure the orange box is encircling the "Tuner Mode" option (if not use the up/down arrows to select it) and then press the right or left arrow until it says "Cable" on the right hand side.

6. Press the down arrow to highlight "Channel Scan"
7. Press "OK" on the remote to start the scan.

When the scan is complete, the TV should revert to watching mode, if not, press the "Menu" button on the remote to exit the menu.

Once again, I apologise for losing the chat session. I hope the instructions above solve your problem.

Please let me know what happens, by replying to this message and I will assist you further if necessary.

Hi. I now only get audio for channels 73 (Mate), 24 (ABC 24/7 news) 44 (Channel 31). I have lost audio for all other (forty-something)channels. I have a DGTEC DH-2000A set-top box. I have tried a rescan...

Ok here's the fix, you're only recieivng audio on HD channels because you've got your audio set on automatic or dolby ac-3.

Click menu on your remote, go to a/v settings, then audio and change it to MPEG-1.

Should sort you out.

Can i access my digital channels on cabel without a box? I dont want to have to type in sub numbers, can my remote be programed for that?

Local digital channels should be available from the cable TV line from the wall. Your TV has to have a digital tuner. You can do a channel set-up scan with the TV. Then do channel up and down or channel # access to get to desired channel.

Problems with insignia remote control on converter box

Well, try it two different ways, as follows: But be sure that the tv-channel that's selected for tuning will be identical to the "output-channel" which you'll then select for the Insignia converter-box. So, if you first select Channel 3 for tuning the tv set, then you must later select Channel 3 on the "Output Channel" choice for the Insignia "set-up" menu. Similarly, if you first select Channel 4 for tuning the tv set, then you must later select Channel 4 on the "Output Channel" choice for the Insignia "set-up" menu. Be consistent! If you find that the Insignia menu-screen does not subsequently appear after tuning the tv to Channel 3, then start-over with Channel 4 as your proper tv-tuned station to initiate the pop-up screen for the Insignia menu. Now, here's an example that assumes Channel 3 is the proper tuning-station for your tv-set within your particular region: You will first tune your tv-set itself (by means of its handheld tv-remote) to Channel 3. Be sure, however that your Insignia converter-box is turned-on and properly connected to your tv-set and antenna. On your tv's hand-held remote-controller, you should find a button that serves as its "input selector" -- with a typical descriptor such as "Input" or "Line" or "Video/Antenna." Press that button, and enter successive channel numbers until you get to Channel 3. You may need to press the digits 03 to signify Channel 3. The tv-screen may be colored bright blue at that point. Then, as you switch to holding your Insignia remote-controller, press the "Menu" button. (Please note that you will need to press hard and firm upon the buttons of the Insignia hand-held in order to get proper responsiveness; a quick touch of the button will not be effective.) After pressing the "Menu" button, the Insignia menu should now appear on the tv-screen. Now, you need to use your Insignia hand-held remote-controller (not the tv hand-held remote-controller again) to travel through the menu-screen to the "Setup" feature. Then, select "Output Channel." Proceed to select Channel 3 -- which will then be printed for you next to the Output Channel feature. Finally, under the same Setup menu, go to "Auto Tuning" -- which will commence a complete scan of all available channels. Remember, if tuning by Channel 3 is inappropriate for tv-tuning within your particular geographic region, then repeat the above process by substituting Channel 4. When you are done, you will rely almost exclusively upon the Insignia hand-held remote controller. You do not especially need to use your tv hand-held remote-controller again. However, be sure to avoid standing in front of your tv-set to change channels by buttons or knobs upon the tv-set itself. Tuning again upon the tv-set itself will negate your prior tv-setting for either Channel 3 or Channel 4 -- and thereby sabotage your working set-up! I myself incurred chronic anxiety yesterday (June 13), as I was stunned that the Insignia menu-screen did not appear immediately when I pushed "menu" on the Insignia hand-held. The only buttons that worked on the Insignia handheld remote-controller were the Power-on for the converter-box and the Power-on for the tv-set. (continued next page) Because my expectation had been this process would take just a few minutes, I was deeply frustrated and impatient. However, I recognized that my apprehension of impending loss was absolutely appropriate as emotional "signal-processing" for me personally -- in contrast to my formerly high expectation of immediate fulfillment, completion, and gratification. Instead of my intention for quick success, I faced the stunning dread that the Insignia box had become defective or that I'd fail to ever figure-out the problem. I would not have been so impatient if I hadn't expected immediate success for the set-up. I rejected the slogan that "I just want to get this over with!" I rejected the option of stomping upon the Insignia box! Amidst my hour-long anxiety, I summoned "Courage" -- a mode of patience to accompany my internal "quivering." I did a Google search. From this Fix-Ya web-site and other troubleshooting sites, I had strong clues that improperly setting Channel 3 or Channel 4 was a primary culprit for the failure of the Insignia's menu-screen to appear. When I finally succeeded, my anxiety dissipated quickly with a temporary relief. But then came the anger that the Insignia "User Guide" had not been clear to explain the process. From that aftermath of outrage, I decided to promptly compose this protocol to assist others who have been similarly tormented -- perhaps to the extent of incorrectly believing that the Insignia converter-box was a defective product requiring prompt replacement.

Need to reset sanyo DP26647 without remote control

I got it to scan and finally have all my channels. I just kept entering menu & hitting down arrow and it just started scanning after about 5 or 6 attempts. Very unscientific but it worked. I have ordered a replacement remote.
