Question about HEWLETT-PACKARD HP Compaq Presario CQ62-410US Notebook

2 Answers

Hi, I bought my Compaq Presario CQ62-410US recently.Windows 7 Home Premium was already installed and my only task was to set up the notebook for its first use.Which I promptly did with the assistance of the tutorial.I later shut down the laptop after using it for a while.Upon booting it up afterwads, I was prompted to enter a psssword by the windows logon screen. The only problem is, I did not make any user account.Neither did I set up any passwords. Now i'm locked out of my desktop because there is only one account (of which I don't know the password) and i've even tried to log on using safemode to no avail.Help needed urgently!!!!

I can not decode this statement. and is KEY to best answers..
"Windows 7 Home Premium was already installed and my only task was to set up the notebook for its first use."

my guess is you found an old Compaq LT, dead.? or locked or ?whatever, so you then.
then you installed fresh w7, right? (wise)
did you use HP disks, Microsoft disks or did you use the F11 recovery partition install? 3 ways 2 are correct ways.

a fresh load of w7 always has you setup a User name (UN)
password (PW)

if not fresh and lost your password (to login to windows 7)
then google how to cure that. there are like 1million others did same
now, and all answers same. per below.

lost W7 PW:
there are 4 ways to cure that,

  1. reinstalled W7, and this time write down step 12, answers.
  2. use the way to cure,it ask at
  3. use the online fixes (hacking tools ) that are both defective or infected with malware(&virus) seen every where for sale.

what path you choose. who knows?
4: install fresh Windows 10, is better. (best future best support) long term.... IMO

Fresh w7:
if W7 was fresh loaded.
then the steps are here
step 11 and 12, sets UN and PW
only YOU know what you did there. no one else.

You can boot up your Vista cd and it will give you the option to Install or Perform a Repair.
Since you say that you have already re-installed it, I would save the data and continue with a complete installation IE:format and Install.
