Check before connecting the camera to have installed the software that was supplied with the camera. If you already have that ,tryto put the camera inplayback mode and then plug it toa different usb port on your pc..

How do I download my DV tapes from DCR - HC19E sony to my Dell window 7 os lap-top please. I've lost the original software.

Hi, I'd suggest getting a Pinnacle Dazzle, it comes with a part that the connection's from the camcorder plug into then it plugs into your USB and it comes with software for transferring the video as well as doing basic editing. You can have a look at it here: http://www.pinnaclesys.com/PublicSite/us/Products/Consumer+Products/Dazzle/Dazzle+Video+Archiving/Dazzle+Video+Creator+Plus+HD.htm

Hi, I am having Sony DCR TRV22E Camcorder, and installing the driver given with it on Windows 7, but the driver given in the CD is not allowed to install on Windows 7 OS, what is the solution for this ?...

You don't need to install a driver. You should be able to connect the camcorder, using a Firewire/1394 cable, and Windows 7 should recognize it. All versions of Windows since Windows 98 can recognize DV video camcorders. I have a very similar (although USA version) Sony camcorder and I have connected it to over a dozen different Windows computers without ever installing a driver.

Now, while you don't need a driver, you DO need a capture program (an application) to actually do the video capture. Most versions of Windows include

Windows Movie Maker

and this can be used to do the capture. I also highly recommend the shareware program called:

Scenalyzer

which you can download and try for free.

I AM UNABLE TPO TRANSFER THE DATA FROM DV TO MY PC WHICH HAS WINDOWS 7 ALSO I want drivers for the same and its touch screen is not working tell me how to do all the stuff

Usually this type of camera downloads video with a Firewire (Sony call this i.Link) connection. Some mini-DV and D8 have a USB connection which is used for stills ONLY. However, the DCR-HC30 is one of the few cameras that Sony say can use the USB to transfer video.

There is a Sony tutorial page for downloading video to computer at THIS LINK You will need to select Windows as the operating system, then mini-DV as the camera type, then select the type of connection. As you will see, the USB option warns that it won't work with many cameras, and you are strongly recommended to use i.Link (which everyone else calls Firewire). However, this particular camera can use USB (Sony have a list and this one is on it).

I have a sony handycam dcr-hc19e. I am trying to transfer to my laptop which only has a usb connector and i have updated software still wont work - any ideas?

If you computer has Windows Vista or Windows 7 installed, then streaming over USB is not supported on those operating systems.
It is only supported on Windows XP.
At any rate, the quality of the video when streamed over USB is of considerably lower quality when compared to the video when transferred of IEEE 1394 connection.
If you don't have Windows XP, you'll have to find a computer with an IEEE 1394 connector and buy a Sony DV to IEEE 1394 cable. The DV port on the camera is right next to the USB port. Consult your local Sony retailer to find the proper cable for your camera.

Sony Handycam DCR-HC42 Mini DV not recognized by Windows 7

win vista and win 7doesn't support usb streaming. the usb driver for this model would not be compatible with your computer's OS. although, you were able to download PMB still this wouldn't work, it's basically an alternative software that you can use with the newer OS. still the device driver would not be installed. and you would get a message that "ilink connection is not detected". the reason you get that is bec the camcorder and the software is intended for use with the dv (ilink or ieee1394) connection. so if your computer has an ieee1394 card and you have a compatible ilink cable, then your good to go,it should be a plug-and-play connection (no drivers required). all you need then would be a video capturing software (like win moviemaker) to transfer videos from tape to PC. hope this helps. thanks :)

You need "Picture Package" software supplied with Sony camera to transfer video files in to PC. If you have software CD, please install it and connect your camrea with USB port.
If you dont have CD, check following Sony official weblink to download USB Driver, though it will not give you proper control on file transfer procedure yet it do help you to connect camera with PC.
