Question about HP Compaq d530 CMT PC Desktop
Hi Mike, I take it you have just tried to go for a ram upgrade and now you have nothing showing on your computer screen. Do you still have the old ram in your system? I'm thinking you can perhaps remove the ram upgrade and see if this has any effect in getting your system back up and running. It could be a faulty ram module. What was your ram before the upgrade, 512, 1GB, 2GB? Another thing to consider before touching the inside of your pc make sure you ground yourself and you can do this by touching the outside metal port at the rear of your pc and this will then release any static discharge from your fingers.
Here's a website for you to check also and this is where I purchase my memory from and it has this free scanning tool that scans your system and it tells you how much ram you have in your system and the maximum amount of ram that you can install in your system. http://www.crucial.com
As things stand, I would remove the ram upgrade and stick with the ram that you had before the upgrade and then check out the crucial website and carry out that scan. I hope this information is of some use to you and good luck. Andrew
