Small White Dots on the Screen

I have the DLP 50" Samsung TV ( Model # HLT5075S)and have a problem with small tiny white dots appearing on the screen, at first it was only two and now we have apprx 30, I have been told it could be the DMD Board or the Lamp, Where do you purchase the replacement parts for this TV, I have been told we could replace the Lamp ourselves is this true ? how do I know the Part # for the DMD Board for this model ? Thanks for your help... the TV is only apprx 14 months old... Judy

I am suffering the same issue. The DMD board is producing thousands of white, gray, and eventually black spots. If you have a warranty, use it. The cost of replacement is at least 950.00 with a 350.00 refund if you send them the core. Good luck. PS....dont wait to fix it, it will spread on your screen faster and faster :(

I have the white dot problem and had someone who knows look at it and they said it was not a board or lamp...it was burn dimples on the film that the mirrors shine on. I need to know where to get the film that the repair person said could be replaced.

Shellie is 100% correct - my father's TV had the exact same problem. I purchased the part Shellie recommended and then purchased a service manual for $10 online. It's an easy fix and you don't have to be technically savvy to fix. Thanks Shellie!!!!

Small white dots have started to appear on our screen, first, on, then a couple days later 2 more, and today we have 6 small white dots on our screen. What is happening to cause this condition?

Your problem is that the DMD device is failing. You're in luck, though. Mitubishi has recently released a replacement DMD device in order to keep repair costs down for the consumer. Take your TV to an authorized Mitsubishi servicer for repairs.

I have white dots appearing on my samsung dlp.

If the white spots are appearing in different spots or "Moving" it is the DMD board beginning to fail. Samsung DLPs seem to have a lot of DMD board failures. I would expect it to completely fail in the next couple months.

If there are only a couple small white spots that never go away it could be a mirror that is seized on the chip, but it's far more likely that the DMD board is going bad.

I have white dots on the screen of my hsl4266wx/xaa?

If these dots are only seen when the picture is on I would look for the Optical Block to be causing it. Are the dots in the same place each time you turn it on?
