I use samsung sh-s222a DVD-RAM drive. When i put a blank DVD in it, it changes to CD-DRIVE. I update my farmware still have the same problem. I need a sollution

With Windows XP and above and most DVD players today users do have the option to change their DVD region scheme a few times (often no more than four times).

To adjust the region in Windows follow the below steps.

Click Start, Settings, and open Control Panel

Double-click the System icon.

In the System Properties click the Hardware tab.

In Hardware click the Device Manager button.

In Device Manager click the "+" symbol next to the DVD/CD-ROM drives icon.

This should expand and display each of the drives installed in your computer. Double-click the

DVD drive you wish to change the region for.

In the Properties window click the DVD Region tab.

Within this window you should be able to change your region code and also be able to see how many changes remaining you have on the drive.

It might be a registry problem if you cant see your disk drive in windows explorer
Close all open programs
Click on Start, Run, and type regedit and press Enter
Click on the plus signs (+) next to the following folders
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
SYSTEM
CurrentControlSet
Control
Class
{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
This folder is the DVD/CD-ROM Drive Class Description in the registry. Look for any of the following names in the right hand column.
Upper Filters
Lower Filters
Upper Filters.bak
Lower Filters.bak
If any of the above keys shown in step 4 are listed, right-click on them and choose Delete

After deleting the keys, close the registry editor
Reboot your computer
Open My Computer and check to see if your CD or DVD drives have returned.

how old is it?

If u r using cd to install the os there might be 2 cds for windows 7. so pull out the first cd and insert the next one when it stops and says cd.dcd is missing.

Try NERO

Windows will install a geniric driver for your drive.
If Windows cannot find it, type "Windows Update catalogue" on google and go on the link which url is "catalogue.update.microsoft.com"
it will ask you to install a plugin for the website.
when done, search windows update for your drive.
If no driver is found, then the drive is incompatable with your version of windows.

Please be sure that your writer writes DVD's also confirm once again from where you've bought it..

If its surely the Right one then try some other Image burning softwrae don't use Nero its not good..
