Keep the Program button pressed until you see wash programs like Auto or Normal displayed. This should get rid of the Lower basket program.
Manual is available from here
Have you checked each individual clutch spring to see if broken? To get clutch basket off: remove all springs, all friction plates. Make sure to leave all plates in original order. Then, with impact gun, remove large nut in center of clutch basket. Should remove easily. No puller needed.
Tilt the unit back & shine a light through the clear plastic of the outer basket & see if you see clothing stuck in between the outer basket & inner basket. The floating basket should lift up & down if you grab the inner basket from the inside & lift up.
Hi dear.Try this.Pull the top basket towards you.Check on the side (if you can) back of the basket two of the wheels on top row should be on rail guide & third one just under the rail guide to support the basket. It should be even on both side of basket to run smoothly. If not pull the basket all the way towards you & lift up the basket you are holding.Basket will be free to come out of rail guide.(Please check, are the rail guides running in & out freely without basket? If not there are two plastic wheel inside of the each rail guide one or two of it must be damaged. That needs to be replaced. Please also check side wheels on the basket, they sould be freely turning. If not needs to be replaced.) If that did not work out,try to put back the basket even way to rail guide the way took it off.Contact Miele for assitants.Thanks.Goodluck.
Press pause cancel once and that should do it. If not the repair manual advises calling for service. Lets see what the F50 is...hold on...Motor stalled, rotor position sensor detects no motion from the tub, does basket move freely? If basket moves freely see test#3 in the repair manual HERE The manual gives readings to verify and has a long detailed complicated set of IF's for this machine. Good luck
Was there by chance a comforter or anything excessively bulky or heavy washed in it prior? There is a coupler under the tub that conencts the gearcase (transmission) to the tub. More than likely, this is stripped out! Is that an Estate Model? Also, Does your family make it a habit of stuffing the basket with as much as they can? You should NEVER load past the top row of holes in the basket. And load them loosely. Drop them in and where they lay i just that. Overfilling is a major cause of coupler damage, too.
Thank you for the model number, can you give me the first two digits of your serial number. That number is located on the back right side of the console. I only need the first two digits.10, 12, 16,,,etc.
Let's try to troubleshoot the grinding noise issue, You mention the spin cycle. Have you taken any dc or UC errors in spin cycle? Can you try the following and let me know what you find?
1.Open the lid and rotate tie wash basket by hand Counter Clock Wise, CCW.The wash basket should rotate freely with no restriction. The wash basket will not rotate Clock Wise, CW by hand. 2.Raise the top of the machine.Insert a flat blade putty knife approximately 2.5” from the left and right sides of the washer top, depress the spring tabs securing machine top to the washer base.Raise the top of the machine to observe the wash basket and tumbler action described in step 2. (See page 33 of the Service Manual for putty knife insertion point). Also see pic attached. 3.With the top raised start a Spin Only cycle with no clothes in the wash basket, observe the wash basket it will begin to rotate CCW.Watch the tumblers, they should not rotate in spin cycle (maybe ½ turn at the start of spin cycle and that’s all).If the tumblers rotate while the wash basket is rotating you have a clutch malfunction and the Spin Cycle will fail with dc/UC errors. If this is not the situation move on to step 3.This is what I refer to as a soft failure and possible clean up of the clutch roller bearings in the clutch hub may restore normal clutch operation.A hard failure would be the clutch spring has failed, the roller bearings are rusted beyond clean up.A replacement clutch is required. Pic attached for top cover removal .
Let me know if you see the tumblers rotating in Spin Only cycle and if yo hear the grinding noise. Rich
This is a very complicated machine utilizing no transmission, rotor/stator type drive motor, and a locking/unlocking clutch mechanism design to either engage or disengage the wash basket. These machines are tricky even for professionals to properly diagnose.
