SOURCE: Samsung Pixon touch screen frozen

The issue of touc screen freezing in he M880 is mostly due to fault in the contact. The screen contact is just below the volumen control buttons on the right. I inserted a fingre nain where the volume control is and pulled up the screena wee bit. near the volume up botton, I then inserted the tip of a tooth pick. It worked and the touch sensitivity is just as new :)

SOURCE: Samsung tocco lite touch screen..

this is a factory fault that cannot be rectified, from time to time the phone will freeze and after a while will function normally as if nothing ever happened. leave the phone alone dont fiddle with it until it resumes normal function

How to work my touch screen on my jelly bean 4.1 10in

Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) your device now has several different lock options available.
To access your lock options, touch Apps [img border="0" alt="Image" src="https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/euf/assets/images/faqs/ICS/spdrjpn13.png"> > > Security & Screen Lock.
Screen Lock Options
  • Slide - provides no protection, but lets you get to the Home screen quickly, or open Camera and start taking pictures immediately.
  • Face Unlock - lets you unlock your phone by looking at it. This is the least secure lock option.
  • Pattern - lets you draw a simple pattern with your finger to unlock the phone. This is slightly more secure than Face Unlock.
  • PIN - requires four or more numbers. Longer PINs tend to be more secure.
  • Password - requires four or more letters or numbers. This is the most secure option, as long as you create a strong password.
The Lock Screen on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) uses two timers. The first timer is the "Sleep" timer which turns off the device display to extend battery life. You can turn the display on and swipe to unlock. The second timer called the "Automatic lock" timer turns on security features like pin, pattern, password or face unlock and protects the device from unknown users. This"Automatic lock" timer begins after the "Sleep" timer expires and you will be asked to enter personally recognizable data like pin, pattern, password or the face unlock when the display is powered on.
Note: The Automatic lock option will only show after a screen lock option (other than Slide) has been set.
To adjust the "Automatically lock" timer go to Settings > Security & Screen Lock > Automatically lock > Select desired time frame.
To adjust the "Sleep" setting go to Settings > Display > Sleep > Select desired time frame
If you are using facial recognition and do not want the "slide to unlock" to appear, set the "Automatic lock" timer to "5 seconds".
Power button instantly locks
There is an option in Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) which will automatically lock the device when the display is on and the power button is pressed. As soon as the power button is pressed your device will lock.
Note: The Power button instantly locks option will only show after a screen lock option (other than Slide) has been set.
To activate the "Power button instantly locks" setting, go to Settings > Security & Screen Lock > check the Power button instantly locks checkbox.
It is important to note your phone may contain security policies set by your IT administrator which may override any settings you attempt to set under screen security. For example, if you set your phone to automatically lock for 30 minutes and phone locks after 10 minutes, it may be due to security policies set by your IT Administrator. Please contact your IT Admin for more information.
For more information on using your new lock features select one of the quick links below:

Set screen lock
Depending how you use your phone, you may want to set some form of automatic screen lock to prevent unauthorized access. If a screen lock has been set, the screen locks when your phone's display goes to sleep. It is important to note your phone may contain security policies set by your IT administrator which may override any setting you attempt to set under screen security
Before setting a screen lock it is important to note that you will need your Gmail / Google Account credentials to reset any security lock, so please do not set a security lock on your device without first setting up a valid Gmail/Google Account you can remember and access.
To adjust your phone's lock settings:
1. From the Home screen touch Apps [img border="0" alt="Image" src="https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/euf/assets/images/faqs/ICS/spdrjpn13.png"> >
2. Touch Security & Screen Lock > Screen lock.
3. Touch the type of lock you want and follow the onscreen instructions.
If you have previously set a lock, you must enter the pattern, PIN, or password to unlock the lock settings.
4. You can choose among these lock options, listed in approximate order of strength: Slide, Face Unlock, Pattern, Pin, and Password
After you set a lock here, a lock screen displays whenever your screen wakes up, requesting the pattern, PIN, or other specified key
Respond to incoming Calls
While the screen is locked, you can respond to incoming calls in three ways.
  1. To answer a call, touch[img border="0" alt="Image" src="https://motorola-global-eng.custhelp.com/rnt/rnw/img/enduser/icsphoneicon.png">and flick to .

Face unlock is grayed out
Face unlock may be grayed out due to security policies set by your IT administrator which may override any setting you attempt to set under screen security. Contact your IT admin for more information.

Welcome to Fixya.

Things that may cause the touchscreen not to respond:
  • Check if there are no damages on the touch screen area
  • Make sure that the phone has never been dropped.

Solution:
  • Turn off the phone then take the battery out.
  • Press and hold the power button for 15secs then put the battery back in.
  • This will reset the software of the phone if the problem is software only.

If still screen is not giving any response then the issue would be more of an internal hardware problem. Here's a link to help you further test the issue.

Thank you for using Fixya!

The usual solution for such a problem is to have your phone's digitizer or touch screen replaced. That is the only solution for your phone's touch screen to work again. Have this done by a cell phone specialist, preferably one who's good with samsung phones.
