Hi,

The right hand screw is for high, the left for low. Adjust by small amounts at a time.

Hope this helps. If it does, I'd appreciate a vote. Thanks,

There are usually two screws on the carb. The one nearest the Cylinder and marked "L" is for adjusting the idle mixture and the one nearest the Air Filter marked "H" is the high speed adjustment.

Please tell me your closest technitian in Norcross; Georgia 30093 My Chain Saw is not turning on

i cant tell you were to look but i can tell you what to look at on the saw to try to fix it,,,,first change the spark plug and check for a spark by holding the plug on the cylinder head and cranking the motor over,,,hold it down tight or it will bite you?
then check you have a clean carb and that the fule pump rubber is good,,its under the cover were the fule pipe fit on the carb clean the carb out as well,,clean the air filter out,, then give it a go starting her up,,if she runs but keeps stoping get a small screw driver and find the two small screws on the side of the cover,, one is for slow running,,one it for top reves,,,undo the slow running screw till the saw ticks over without stoping,,then hold the triger full open and addjust the full throtol screw till it wont rev any higher,,,dont have the chain brake on at all so watch your self,,,,,cutting a leg off hurts im told????

I have a Mcculloch 16in maccat 35cc chain saw

Does the chain turn freely by hand? Is it being oiled properly? Check the fuel filter, air cleaner, and muffler for plugging. Does 'feathering' the choke make any difference? If it helps, try turning the H jet needle CCW about 1/4 turn which should make it run more rich and 4-stroke until you are cutting which should immediately cause the engine to 2-stroke. Hope some of this helps!

What are the carb. adjs. on a Mc culloch chain saw model cs 38em

If it bogs down like it's getting too much fuel, turn the low side screw out about 1/8 of a turn at a time until it will rev without bogging. If it chokes down like it's not getting any fuel, you probably need to open up the high screw a little.

BTW, you can determine which screw is which by looking at the carb at the base of the screw...it will have a L for Low or H for High stamped near it.

No top end power

Have a set of really small screwdivers ready. First, make certain the saw hasn't set up a season and gotten all gunked up. If it has, take off the air filter and wash the carb out with carb spray cleaner. You may have to replaces all the fuel lines. Once it has fresh gas in it, and you can smell the fresh gas by pumping the bulb til the shellac smell is gone, take off the air cleaner and fire it up, even if you have to use starter fluid spraying a shot into the carb. (You'll probably need a new plug by now).

When it starts to run, hold it at high throttle and adjust the high speed mixture screw to the right until it smooths out, or if it gets worse, to the left. Once it runs smoothly, keep turning til it begins to stutter, then turn back a half turn.

After you get it to run ok at high speed, you'll need to adjust the low speed until it starts and revs up quickly.
