For that open cpu cabinet cover. Then reconnect RAM memory.Try RAM in another slot. Pull cmos cell from motherboard for 10 minutes then put it back.Reconnect both connection to harddrive. Reconnect Pci card if any.Make sure motherboard is not ground with cabinet. Reconnect All connection to motherboard. Let me know if you need further assistance. Thanks for using FixYa.

Firstly take it straight back and change it, if its a hardware issue then you want it changed sooner rather than later when it might run out of short term warranty.

Secondly, be sure that the vga/dvi cable is plugged in securely at both ends, it has to recognise the signal from the pc to turn its monitor on and start displaying. But change the monitor and fast!

I want to upgrade from a AMD Sempron processor 2800+ 1.6GHz 192MB to a faster AMD processor with more RAM. I have an Acer 3002LC laptop. Can you advise me what CPU will support this...

My advice to you is to purchase a faster/newer laptop.

A new processor plus labour to install the CPU will cost a substantial amount of money and the performance gain will be marginal. Also RAM bottle neck come into affect as 192mb of RAM is not going to cut it, now-days you need at least 2GB of it. I myself prefer AMD their new AMD Athlon 2 X2 CPUs perform really well.

By the time you spend all that money you could have bought you a new Intel 2.8Ghz dual core processor with 4GB of RAM..keep the one you have for stuff you want to experiment with and buy yourself a new computer

Memory issue

236MB is a very small amount of RAM, especially to be watching DVDs. You need to install additional memory. The minimum recommended these days is 1GB - 4x as much as you have now. Most new systems aren't shipping with less than 2GB. Install some additional RAM and your playback issues should be alleviated.
