My Miele Komfort washing machine is leaking. So much water I can't tell where from. I've cleaned the filter and it seems ok. Any ideas as to how to ascertain cause of leak? Bought it in March 2007 and it has run perfectly until now. Moved it to clean floor 2 wks ago. Thanks.

I have a Miele W4840 front load washer and there is water leaking from the door. I've checked the seal and it doesn't seem to be damaged, but there is a definite leak. Please advise.

first make sure your detergent drawer is not popping open. water will run out from beneath the drawer, run over to the top of the door, run down the door, and then straight down to the floor. If you are not leaking out of the detergent drawer, the next thing down is the bottom of the glass door. look at the glass where it contacts the door seal at the bottom. It should be clean and smooth. Most likely you will find lint, hair, and soap residue. that needs to be cleaned off. any surface imperfections will cause a slow drip or trickle of water to come out of the lowest part of the door. If that is fine, and it is still leaking, open the cover to the drain pump on the bottom right of the front of the machine. Make sure that drain pump filter is tight. run the machine with that little drain access door open and see if you are leaking from there. If none of the above helps, and you are still getting water leaking from the door, miele has designed a new clamping ring for the door seal. Call them and make arrangements to have it replaced.

Miele Washing Machine W4144 It leaks water from underneath after use. Not during, but sometime after the cycle is complete. Otherwise everything seems fine. BTW I've checked the filter thingy low down...

Please check your drain valve/pump as it might be clogged with dirt that restricts flow of water to the required time of the program.
Also make sure that the washer is kept in the correct level as the water needs to drain off without leaving a pool.

Miele leak when switched on for wash, from filter unit front LHS bottom of machince

The leaks in a washing machine could be coming from many different places in the washer.

The first place you need to check is behind the washer, check the two fill hoses and the water mixing valve.

The next thing to do is to remove the front panel, set the washer on the regular cycle and turn it on to start filling.

Use a drop light and check all the hoses under the washer as the washer is filling. Make sure to keep your hands away from any moving parts.

If the hoses are ok, check the pump for leaks. When the bearings in the pump wear out, that is when the pump will get noisy and that could cause your Maytag top load washing machine water leaks.

Another place that the washer could leak water from, is the stem & seal on the holding tank. When washer leaks water from the stem & seal, the water leaks down the center of the transmission.

When the stem & seal need to be replace, the tub bearing has to be replace at the same time. This is an expensive repair if you have to pay someone to do it. If you do it yourself it will cost you about $110

We had the same problem on a Premier 500 and solved it by tilting the machine forward. Some more water ran out and the lights went off.
