Question about HP Photosmart Premium C309A All-In-One Printer

I keep getting this message every time I want to scan something to my computer. "Scan Problem: Try Starting scan from computer. Refer to documentation for details."

Go to printers and Faxes in Control Panel Right Click the Printer, Select Properties Select Ports from the top tabs and make sure "Enable Bi-Directional Support" is selected.
Also check the HP ImageZone software settings to make sure the computer knows what to do when you scan directly.
This message is usually caused because the printer can not talk to the PC or does not know what to do with the scan.

    The Settings are actually under the HP Director Suit. (Start - Programs - Hewlett Packard - HP Director) The top right hand corner has a drop down box, and scan preferences are there.

    In regards to the Image Zone Software, the Settings are actually under the HP Director Software.

Make sure you go to Hp's website and download the drivers for windows 7 support. Also when installing HP printers make sure the printer is not attached to the computer while driver installation is preforming. Only attach the printer to the compter after the driver is installed and the system reboots.

There might be some issues with scannig interface. To direcltly scan put paper in the scan bed and then open Paint then click on file from scanner or cameras.

Try this:

  1. In your ScanWizard Advanced Control Panel, click View
  2. Click Scan Job Window / Scan Job Queue
  3. When the window pops up:
    • If any boxes are checked in the Scan Job Window / Queue, uncheck them, and recheck them.
    • If no boxes are checked in the Scan Job Window / Queue, check them.
  4. Close the Scan Job Window / Queue.
You should be able to scan again without any issues.

Scan problem with HP Officejet J5700: When I press scan the screen shows "No scan options, refer to device documentation for troubleshooting"

This particular error message is in regards with the software of the printer. Its either your printer is not communicating with the computer software for scanning or your firewall is blocking the software. But before we proceed with any troubleshooting steps why don't you check if you have hp solution center or hp director in your computer. If you have any of this two softwares try to scan usig it. If it will have an error message try to send any feedbacks

have you tried to reinstall the software, first uninstall it from add or remove programs and then resintall it from the cd or we can get them from the internet.
