Make sure that your keyboard layout is set to US. To do this, right click the taskbar, go to "Toolbars", and make sure that the "language bar" is selected. A keyboard icon will appear. Click this icon and set the keyboard to the language that you want it to be.
Alternatively, you can set the keyboard layout if you go to the control panel, under "region and language" and then "keyboards and languages".
Hope this helps.

Make sure your keyboard is set to the correct type.
In Windows 7, go to the Control Panel, "Clock, Language, and Region", "Change keyboards or other input methods", "Change Keyboard", press "Add..." and select your keyboard type (probably US) then press "Ok". Once you have added the keyboard select it and move it to the top.

Go to control panel, go to region and language option, go to keyboard and language, make sure the keyboard layout is set to the correct country (either the county where you're from or where the keyboard was manufactured).

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

SOURCE: the wrong symbols appear when key pressed. i.e

sounds like you have the keyboard set to the wrong country. Go into control panel, then into regional settings and set the language and keyboard for the area in which you live ( like english US or english australian) then reboot to load the correct codepage... Have fun.

When I press the power button, it lights but but blinks off (along with the disk, cd, and antenna lights) and the display never lights. Seems like it is "pulsing on and off.

Do you have the adapter plugged in? if yes then make sure it is working.
Take out the battery and try using the laptop with just the adapter, and vice versa.
If neither works, try a different adapter.
If that does not help then there is a hardware issue with the laptop, you will need a technician.
