Hi

Your basic telephone takes only two wires to operate on. That is referred to as the TIP and RING. At you junction box you should have two wire for your phone line. Most of the time it will be black and red. Check this 1st and use a telephone and connect these two wire and insure you have service at the box, and it is working correctly. If yes make sure the wires are good into the house and to your final location watch that in securing the cable no wires are cut into or shorted by the staples you are using to secure them as you install the new wire. Make sure you have the tip and ring at the final terminating point. There should not be any change in the final connection, unless you have shorted a wire.

Also if the above is not the case then Try to reset the telephone base by unplugging the unit's electrical power. Wait for 15 seconds and plug it back in again. Allow up to one minute for the handset and the telephone base to synchronize.

The ringing happens because all the phones have the same extension number--11. So, reprogram them so that they have an extension number from 11 through 22.So reprogram them so that each phone has a unique extension number chosen from the numbers from 11 through 22.

Follow the steps:-

1. Press [STORE]
2. Press [1][0]
3. Enter the two digit number you wish to assign to this phone.
4. Press [MUTE]
A short ring will be heard to signal successful programming.

The phone is programmed (maybe by accident or fault) to think your connector are the headphones, normally the phone would ring out loud as I am sure you know, but like on the Smasung GT-S3G50 when the headphones are in the vibration/ message tone is heard via the headphones, if this dosen't work I suggest you speak to a proffesional or the shop you bought it from.

Extension cant answer in night service

This is a programed feature for the phone system. You will need to have your vendor reprogram the system to either allow for more rings, or simply turn the night service option off when still in the office.

How do you use PICK UP OPTION

Firstly, you have to know the extensions that you want in this Pick-up Group.
Eg: 227,234,+239 all want to be in the same pick up group.

To get into programming press:
-> FEATURE 2 6 6 3 4 4
-> Password: 2 6 6 3 4 4
Now you will have to look at your LCD for 3 arrows
<- Heading....Enter->
<- Back .......Next->

-> you will now see TERMINALS&SETS and press Enter (the top right arrow key) now put in the extn that you want to change (Eg. 227).
-> you should now see the extension number 227: NAME, press Enter (the top right arrow key) again
-> you will now see Line access press NEXT
-> you will now see CAPABILITIES and Enter
-> now keep hitting NEXT till you see PICKUP GROUP:__ and CHANGE this to say 7
-> hit NEXT to save this change, then the HEADING button twice till you see the beginning of this menu eg 227: NAME

-> press Find and type in Ex.234 and follow same steps above to put this person in pickup group 7
-> and once again for Ex.239

After all the sets are now in the same pickup group 7, if anyone's set is ringing, dialing FEATURE 7 5 will answer the calls ringing in the group.
Once pressing the F75, whatever call was ringing the longest will be answered first... for your knowledge.

Selecting a custom recording.

I was told that the day and night settings in the local applications must be the same. It is in your night call routing table that you need to place the extension in order for the system to know which recording to play when. Then, your system will play the application when it is set in night mode. Hint: When you place the extension in the call routing tables make sure the extension is placed ABOVE the +ALL CALLS line, if applicable, and your ring-in-destination is set to your appropriate application recording. I hope this helps.

Someone we don't know keeps calling my number at 2:00 a.m. I called them back and told them they had the wrong # but they still call. How can I block their number I tried to *60 think in the phone book...

If you live in the UK British Telecom have a malicious call helpline and they can block or screen calls until this stops. Ring 150 and report it to them. Hope that helps. Failing that can't you unplug your phone just for a few nights until this person gets the message that you are not going to answer no matter how long he/she lets the phone ring. Cherbear.

Phone doesn't ring at station

Sounds like your station (phone) is set to not ring. You need to check your ring assignment.
Feat # *
Enter password (default is 000000)
Press the soft key under "show"
Press the soft key under "next" until 1. STATION appears in the display.
Press the soft key under "show" SHOW STA:_ appears.
Enter your station number and press the show soft key
Press the "next" soft key until RING ASSIGNMENT shows on the display.
Press the "show" soft key. You will see CO LINE 1 : followed by NONE or DAY or NITE or BOTH.

If it says NONE, your phone never rings for an incoming call. If DAY or NIGHT your phone rings depending on the time of day and the time definitions for DAY and NIGHT programmed into the KEY unit. If it says BOTH, your phone should ring all the time.

If you need to change the setting, press the "chg" soft key until the desired setting comes up.
When you're done with LINE 1, press the "next" soft key to move to the next line. Repeat the process for all your active lines. Obvisously changing settings on lines with no CO connection will have no affect.

While your in the mode, check your RECEIVE ASSIGNM as well to make sure your phone is configured to receive incoming call. It was the station feature just before the RING ASSIGNMENT feature.

Hope this helps.
